The three peaks of the Bonds, Mount Bond, West Bond, and Bondcliff, are among the most remote of the 4000er's (there are 47 mountains in New Hampshire above 4000 ft.). This one is Bondcliff. They are located in the heart of the Pemigewasset Wilderness Area. Count on an overnight backpack trip to visit them.

Coventry is a town with a long history but if you visit the city you are struck by how modern the city centre looks. This was entirely due to massive air raids on the city in 1940. In one night in November 1940 more than 4,300 homes in Coventry were destroyed and around two-thirds of the city's buildings were damaged. Most of the city centre was destroyed. As well as two hospitals, two churches including the cathedral . Given the devastation it is surprising that a few of the original historic buildings survived . The image shows the fifteenth century Bonds Hospital. This rather fine building bow offers sheltered housing for older people . The image makes this building look quite rural but it sits very close to the city centre

Tree hugging. From my walk with the dogs.

Cat bonds involve a profound sense of trust, harmony and a silent language that only they understand. Bonded cats tend to share their territory without conflict or aggression finding comfort in each other’s presence, when they feel safe occupying the same spaces.

The red-throated loon (North America) or red-throated diver (Britain and Ireland) (Gavia stellata) is a migratory aquatic bird found in the northern hemisphere.

The most widely distributed member of the loon or diver family, it breeds primarily in Arctic regions, and winters in northern coastal waters. Ranging from 55 to 67 centimetres (22 to 26 in) in length, the red-throated loon is the smallest and lightest of the world's loons. In winter, it is a nondescript bird, greyish above fading to white below.

During the breeding season, it acquires the distinctive reddish throat patch which is the basis for its common name. Fish form the bulk of its diet, though amphibians, invertebrates, and plant material are sometimes eaten as well. A monogamous species, red-throated loons form long-term pair bonds. Both members of the pair help to build the nest, incubate the eggs (generally two per clutch), and feed the hatched young.

The red-throated loon has a large global population and a significant global range, though some populations are declining. Oil spills, habitat degradation, pollution, and fishing nets are among the major threats this species faces. Natural predators—including various gull species, and both red and Arctic foxes, will take eggs and young. The species is protected by international treaties.

In the celebrated metropolis of London, during the year 1837, an era wherein steam reigned as the sovereign of invention and the harbinger of man's mastery over nature, there was convened a conclave of women unparalleled in their intellect and indomitable in their courage. The Aetherian Coalescence, they were titled, each a luminary in her own right, united under the banner of progress and the pursuit of the ethereal realms.

Lady Penelope Hargreaves, the scion of a lineage graced with the acumen of engineering, her hands adept at weaving the intricate lattices of clockwork that gave pulse to their airborne leviathan. Dr. Arabella Swithenbank, whose steam engines thrummed with a vigor that was the very essence of Prometheus’ fire. Miss Theodosia Barrow , an enchantress of the voltaic forces, her devices casting the brilliance of a thousand captured lightning bolts across the span of their craft. Dame Guinevere Loxley, the cartographer whose charts rivalled the celestial maps of the ancients, a guiding star in their odyssey. And Miss Isambard Brunella, a machinist of such deftness that her creations spoke of a harmony between the artisan's touch and the unyielding metals of the earth.

The vessel of their dreams, "The Celestial Peregrine," stood poised upon the cusp of dawn, her silhouette a testament to humanity's ascendancy over the bonds of gravity, her engines a symphony of steam and steel. As the first light of morning kissed the Thames, the airship ascended, a ballet of gears and gales, into the empyrean canvas above.

Yet, as is the wont of fate, the skies unveiled their tempestuous heart, challenging these daughters of Icarus with a squall of such ferocity that it seemed as though the firmament itself sought to reclaim its dominion from the hands of mortals. But amidst the maelstrom, the resolve of The Aetherian Coalescence shone with the steadfastness of the North Star, and it was by their unity and the fortitude of their creation that “The Celestial Peregrine” was guided safely through the tumult, descending not in wreckage upon the tumultuous sea but upon the embrace of the verdant earth with the grace of a nightingale alighting upon its nest.

From this odyssey emerged a revelation, a spark of genius that would illuminate the path of progress henceforth. They devised an apparatus, a marvel of valvular alchemy, which would render the steam engines of the future not only more robust against the caprices of the tempest but also more gracious in their consumption of the coals that fed them. This mechanism, born from the exigencies of their voyage, became the cornerstone of an epoch wherein the skies teemed with the silhouettes of airships, each a scion of "The Celestial Peregrine," carrying aloft not only the affluent but all who yearned for the splendor of the heavens.

Thus, The Aetherian Coalescence had not simply touched the skies; they had transmuted the very fabric of human aspiration, setting the celestial highways abuzz with the promise of adventures untold. It was a testament to the boundless potential when the ingenuity of the human spirit is applied to the realms of the possible, and it was in this spirit that the age of aerial travel flourished, under the watchful eyes of the five who had first chartered its course.

Once the big elephants have dug holes to reach the waters, they are often too deep for the little ones to reach down easily. They often duck their whole heads into the holes, leaving them vulnerable to predators, as they then cannot see their surroundings any longer. Their herd thus stays very close by and watches the youngsters have their fill, or give a gentle push, if they somehow need help getting back out of the waterhole.

In either case, you rarely find a very young elephant on or near a waterhole, without an adult very nearby. Their tight family bonds are amazing to see.

9th build in my Iron Builder round against Duncan, using the Technic Rotor Blade part in Red.

I've used the part 8 times.

Taken in downtown Columbus, Ohio.

In 2012 when I saw this building among all the modern big buildings around it, the first things that attracted me to it were the stairs, the roof line and the fact that a bail bonds company had an office on the second floor with the outside stairs seeming to be the only entrance. I managed to take only 3 shots of this view before my brother pushed me to hurry up and go on. I didn't look at things closely or walk around to the front or other side of the building. Later I posted some of the other shots I took that day and then moved on to other shots.

In late 2025, I came across the shot and noticed the murals on the side and what looked like a covered patio that seemed to indicate that the first floor likely was a bar or restaurant. The irony of a bar below a bail bond company stuck me as funny and so I investigated further.

Looking at the sequence of shots I took that day, consulting my memory and obtaining the current address of the bonds co, I thought i knew how I could use Google maps to find a street view to see what the front looked like. Try what I might, I couldn't see the building at that address, so I used Copilot Ai to help my search. It took a long time and many different questions before I finally got the full story.

The building was built in the shot gun style around 1890 and was occupied by the Hair and Corbin saloon. In 2012 when I took the shot, it was the Main Bar at 16 W Main St and the Bonds Co, upstairs address was 18 W Main. In 2021 due to action by a political body, it was demolished and a new multi story building was erected in it's place which is where the Bonds Co has their office currently with the same address as before. As with many bonds companies, the reason it has been there for so many years is the close proximity of many courts.

Mysteries solved with everything being as I had guessed. If it hadn't been demolished, I could have found it quickly and easily, but it was fun and educational to use Copilot. What an experience!
