“One can be a brother only in something. Where there is no tie that binds men, men are not united but merely lined up.”
~Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, Flight to Arras
One of Michigan's most beautiful falls - Bond Falls - can be found on the Middle Branch of the Ontonagon River near Trout Creek, MI. My mom grew up on a farm right 'around the bend', so we spent many summers fishing and hiking here, as well as camping by the lake near the dam on top. Recent years have seen an influx of visitors as the falls have been heavily advertised. This year we drove right on by since there was no place to park on the road top or in the parking lot below. Lesson learned - wait until after the weekend to visit!

Have a nice evening everyone!
It was very interesting watching this mother and her baby interact. I could have spent hours watching but there were other animals to visit.

The strong bond of friendship is not always a balanced equation.
Friendship is not always about giving and taking in equal shares. Instead, friendship is grounded in a feeling that you know exactly who will be there for you when you need something, no matter what or when.
This couldn't be more true for these two. I know I can always count on you to be there when I need you the most, as I will always be there for you two. Thank you for the amazing bond of friendship we have made between us all. We have made some wonderful memories with lots of laughs and always having fun. You two have been my rock when I felt lost and you pulled me back to me. For this I can't thank you enough for that. You two have become my best friends and we make an amazing team! Your friendship means more to me than you will ever know. Always the Kiss Ass Trio♥ Love you both♥
Should have titled the series Friends&Lovers since the bonding of the human spirit reaches many levels of intimacy.

Bond Falls actually falls in two different sections. The upper falls (not in this photo) is a series of rushing rapids and cascades falling over rocky ledges and outcroppings.
The main drop of Bond Falls (this photo) is absolutely breathtaking and has been photographed for various commercials and advertisements. The river widens to nearly 80 feet before falling over 50 feet in a series of steplike cascades. The squared-off rock stairs are scattered haphazardly in many different layers, causing the water to bounce off their flat tops in a complicated pattern of white streams.

We have a DVD collection of the 007 series... photo taken on Samsung A71 mobile phone, of my computer screen, with selection of DVDs.
The James Bond series focuses on a fictional British Secret Service agent created in 1953 by writer Ian Fleming, who featured him in twelve novels and two short-story collections...
The films are one of the longest continually running film series and have grossed over US$7.04 billion in total at the box office, making it the fifth-highest-grossing film series to date, which started in 1962 with Dr. No, starring Sean Connery as Bond.

At one time, I would have considered Bond Falls a well kept UP secret, but the combination of the efforts of the Michigan Ad Council and the addition of handicapped accessibility has kept the parking lots and trails full and busy. Parking on top and hiking the trail down to the falls leads you past a series of rapids that beg to be photographed...and after a lifetime of visiting this place, I have to admit - I still don't go there without a camera. I never get tired of these falls.

On Sunday I attended a BBQ party at the Sanborn County Park in Saratoga, California. The party was organized by the Peninsula Swiss Club, local to the Silicon Valley. I invited the Takumi Kato family to attend and perform on Taiko drums. Dad is a world-champion Taiko drummer from Japan. They plan to tour 50 states and do 1000 performances in the next few years. This was their 359th performance. What an uplifting experience for the kids to travel and perform! They got interviewed by NHK World: youtu.be/iGgShoq7-r0
I processed a realistic, a balanced, and a photographic HDR photo from a RAW exposure, blended them selectively, and carefully adjusted the color balance and curves. I welcome and appreciate constructive comments.
