Macro Mondays - Refreshments
Thank you very much for your comments and also thanks to those who marked the picture as a favorite! I appreciate each!
This is my last macro added to Macro Mondays group before I leave for my vacation.
This mushroom seems to have been glazed by the rain. It looks very tasty, don't you think? ;-)
Happy Wednesday and bon appétit!

Zutaten:
Grünkohl*Zwiebeln*Hafergrütze*Kassler*Bauchspeck*Kochwurst*Pinkel*Piment*Salz
In the dish kale and pinkel ( a type of sausage in which groats are a major ingredient) , which is mainly used in northwest Germany, partly referred to as cabbage and in Bremen also called brown kale and pinkel , the pinkel has found its way into the names of these traditional dishes, although usually not the only ingredient made of meat.
Ingredients:
Kale*Onions*groats*smoked pork*pork belly*cooked sausage*
Pinkel*Allspice*Salt

Food again! After I uploaded this I realised it would have looked better with something placed at the bottom left of the plate but too late...once again I had eaten the props. That's the problem with photographing my meals, I'm too hungry to wait to see the results!
But who can say what's best? That's why you need to grab whatever chance you have of happiness where you find it, and not worry about other people too much. My experience tells me that we get no more than two or three such chances in a life time, and if we let them go, we regret it for the rest of our lives. - Haruki Murakami
... Sammy and I are like two peas in a pod, or should I say, two noodles in a plate? I skipped the fork and went straight for the slurps as my furry friend did. With sauce on our faces, with every twirl and slurp, we declare ourselves champions of the pasta realm, leaving no noodle behind! Bon appétit, furry friend! ♥
Potato Latkes
Combine: 2 pounds of grated potatoes,
1 grated onion,
2 eggs,
1/4 cup of all-purpose flour (or matzo meal,)
½ tsp baking powder, and salt and pepper to taste.
Shape the mixture into pancakes, and fry them in a heavy-bottomed skillet until they are golden.
Serve with applesauce and/or sour cream.
Cheese Latkes
1 cup cottage cheese or ricotta cheese
¾ cup flour
3 large eggs, separated
1/2 tsp salt
½ tsp baking powder
Oil for frying
Combine cheese, flour, egg yolk, salt and baking powder in a large bowl. Mix until the mixture forms a thick batter. Beat egg whites until stiff and add to cheese mixture.
Heat skillet over medium heat (not too hot.) Put about 2-3 Tbsp of oil in the skillet.
Pour 1-2 tablespoon of batter onto the hot skillet to make small pancakes/latkes.
Fry the latkes for 2-3 minutes on each side until they turn golden brown.
Sprinkle with sugar.
Serve immediately. (These latkes can be served with preserves or sour cream.)

AAW June 8 - 15 Triptych
WIT: In the time of covid 19, I've been busy baking bread - I decided to try no-knead focaccia. I noticed on Instagram that focaccia flowers are a thing, and since I enjoy playing with my food, I thought I'd try my hand at it. The triptych represents the different stages of my focaccia, from raw ingredients to finished creation. It was yummy!
Here is the link to the recipe I followed:
