A friend and I were waiting along a trail when we heard some sounds in the thick brush beside us. The rustling and cracking sound had us perplexed until we looked up and saw this Eastern Red Squirrel.
It was going from branch to branch, working it's way along and knocking the pine cones from the tree, and peppering the area around us.
I got the look from it when I whistled at it.
LPBO, Long Point ON
This image shot in the rain just before "bomb cyclone" hit the Pacific Northwest this weekend. The colors were just changing, and I wonder how many leaves will remain once the storm abates.
Made with the well known 9-11 photo and elements of four stock images. All textures and treatments are my own.
THANK YOU ALL MY KIND FLICKR FRIENDS.
YOUR FAVS, COMMENTS AND INVITATIONS ARE VERY MOTIVATING AND APPRECIATED
Trying to photograph this beautiful part of the honeysuckle blossom with the interesting bokeh behind, this tiny little fly photo bombed the picture and made it perfect to me. :-D
A two day old Canada Goose chick laid down in the grass to rest! His brother thought it was the perfect time for a photo bomb!

Santiago Peak has thousands of insects flying around. This was my first trip to the top of Saddleback and it was amazing to see all of this life with an awesome view of Orange County.
Christ Church Greyfriars, City of London. Grounds of church bombed in WW2 turned into public gardens.
One of these things is not like the other.... We got photo bombed at just the last second, but I went ahead with the shot.
I took this photograph at St. Felip Neri Square, located in Barcelona's Gothic Quarter. Presided over by the baroque church from which it takes its name, the square features a number of historic elements that make it particularly attractive, especially when you view it in silence.
It's a tiny square with a charming little fountain in the middle and overlooked by the baroque church of Sant Felip Neri. Next to the church, the school of Sant Felip Neri still survives. When the schoolchildren aren't playing in the square, and there's silence around, you can almost hear the bombs that fell from the sky one fateful day in January 1938. You can still see the wounds etched into the façade of the church, and they still seem to hurt. A plaque reminds us of the fact that a bombing raid by Italian fascist planes, Franco's allies, ended the lives of 42 people, many of them children, who had sought refuge in the air-raid shelter below the church. Now, the children play in the shade of the acacias, unaware of this tragic past, in this square that marks the entrance to Barcelona's old Jewish Quarter.
The one in the middle let one fly and it missed. We were all lucky that all the geese that were flying over didn't let loose. Carpentersville Nj.

RR32 makes it way back up the US Steel yard after spotting coils. Unfortunately I got cloudbanged on their way down. Not wanting to lose the shot i waited for them to double back, but alas a tanker truck bombed me as the unit crossed my shot. Oh well, the shot’s still alright.

The Riverside, Phnom Penh
Pigeons at the Riverside are so tame, they will actually eat right out of your hand. The one above just flew in to say hi and to see if my camera was edible. 😁
In the photo above, you're actually looking across The Tonle Sap River, away from the city. A five minute walk from here, The Tonle Sap merges with The Mekong River. This area of Phnom Penh is known as The Riverside, home of The Royal Palace, The National Museum, Wat Ounalom and dozens of cafes, bars, restaurants and hotels.
There is a wide, paved pedestrian sidewalk running along the rivers, which makes it a popular hangout for foreigners and locals alike. Especially after sunset, when it cools off.
One foot/ 1/3 meter of snow was predicted- instead we got at least 2 feet in 24 hours. Three inches/ 7.5 cm of rain is coming today, so the pile of white will be melting fast! I was out photographing the juncos in the snow when this beautiful Spotted Towhee showed up. Mount Shasta, California
A BlackHeaded Gull bombs the shot of 66701 easing the Britannic Explorer off the Fowey branch passing Golant on a September Sunday morning. The mist was still clearing as the 0906 Carne Point to Lostwithiel passes by.
The passengers would alight at Lostwithiel for a morning out at The Eden Project whilst the train reversed back onto the branch for servicing. 66744 is on the rear.
Today, 4/7/2018 was fledge day. All five little ones were escorted off the property shortly after fledging during the late afternoon. There were no hawks or crows around during the time so things went rather well. I did not have to swing in to action with a broom :)
Lady and Mr. B were clicking and dive bombing all yard visitors except me. They allowed me to take a couple of shots of this little one too. I feel special. All of the other little peeps were hidden pretty well in Oak three. This one landed on some hanging fruit I keep for the butterflies. Butterflies like rotting fruit.
That's the good news, the bad news is... It's their first few hours out of the box and we are about to experience a whale of a storm. Good luck little ones.
Have a wonderful day and happy snapping.

Dive bombing is a little different from photo bombing! This red-tailed hawk took exception to my walking on the trail in its territory and kept circling low over my head!

While out photographing various things in our yard last night, I thought I'd take some photos of the White Hydrangeas in full bloom, little did I know I was going to be photo bombed by a Black Carpenter Ant..
