I spent 2 days at the North Rim of Grand Canyon and it rained most of the time. I chased the lightning here for 3 hours and took over 1000 boltless photos under an umbrella during my endeavor. Trying to capture lightning without a trigger trap is a huge waste of time, but when your successful just once it makes it all the more rewarding. I tried several different setups using continuous shutter mode with long exposures and then switched to shorter exposures on slow shooting continuous mode and thought that I had failed. When I later reviewed my photos back at the campground I found that I had captured one photo with a strike included. I guess it was luck or just persistence that rewarded me. I also used a second camera to capture video of the storm and the awesome thunderstorm that accompanied the storm. I'm not sure if I will post any of the video but it was nice to have a personal record of the awesomeness of the storms the frequent the Grand Canyon.

Here's the key to my "boltless" construction mounted inside the closet. I feel 100% of strength. The plate's "fingers" come against the outside of the Scamp. The "pull" is with the length of the wooden mount. This is 7/16" plywood with a piece of 1/16" model aircraft plywood laminated to it in order to properly space the striker plate.

I had hoped I was all done messing with eBay and Reverb listings for the day. However, someone emailed me asking to see a photo of the back of a Telematic to see how the neck bolts on. So apparently I've overlooked a serious piece of the marketing of these guitars.

Troops busily cleaning their rifles under the watchful guidance of an NCO. These appear to also be Gewehr 88/05 rifles.There is a crack in the photo, but not in the paper. I am not able to tell if it was a glass negative. Or if the photographer merged two separate photos/negatives. By the looks of the rifle on the table at left, these are Gewehr 88/05 rifles. The boltless rifle at left shows a notch in the bottom of the breech face and what looks like charger guides at the rear of the split receiver.

The last Tuesday Morning visit of the day was their Mechanicsville location. This store originally opened not too long after Ashland, but moved to their new space in 2014 as one of many tenants who were relocated due to Aldi moving in. With that being said, the store doesn't look that different from its' sister location in Ashland despite the ten-year difference. It's just a bland horizontal salesfloor with a drop ceiling/panel lights, a speckled tile floor, boltless shelving, and a few small blue hanging signs. And as the store's inventory dwindles, they've also taken the liberty of blocking off the salesfloor's back end with pegboard shelving, so that area was off limits to customers and is likely where restrooms were located.
