A fresh swallowtail the day before yesterday morning with calm on cleaver, surrounded by brown knapweed, in a natural meadow (6:37 am).

This photo was actually a cock up. As a lot of you know my d500 is still messed up and I can only shoot in full manual with no auto iso and I has just shot something in bright sunlight and turned to this birdie when I realized it was going to fly I just pressed the shutter with no time to change the settings. all I could make out was the wings but with the magic of raw and photoshop cc I was able to bring it back to this which is not at all bad in the circumstances. I am raw converted for life now lol
