Approx. 50mm f/1.1 equivalent in 35mm-film format | 1/15 sec @ 2.4 | ISO 320 (1/2-stop pull-processed)
Thank you fellow flickr-ties for your comments and faves.
Note to self (and others, if you're bokeh-obsessed like me):
This shows off the eerie "3D" quality of this lens. It feels different than the Nikkor 50mm f/1.2 or Leica Noctilux 50mm f/1.1 & f/1.0 lenses (which I also love). I think it has to do with Pentax's choice of intentionally under-correcting circular aberration, thus avoiding "busy" or "donut ring" bokeh. To experience the effect fully, zoom to full-screen size, close one eye, and notice how the foreground "pops."

I love this lens/film combo: smooth specular bokeh and ZERO red/green fringing due to the low-dispersion RADIOACTIVE thorium lens element (which is no problem, since I always wear a lead body suit on photo outings anyways).
Note to self (and the bokeh-obsessed like me):
This shows off the eerie "3D" quality of this lens. It feels different than the Nikkor 50mm f/1.2, Mamiya 80mm f/1.9, and Leica Noctilux 50mm f/1.1 & f/1.0 lenses (which I also love). Pentax 6x7 fans: This image has a really vintage 1950s feel because of the hefty (-1 EV) browning of the thorium glass, but I've subsequently cleared it with the magic "Nortega" IKEA lamp method recommended by the Pentax groups. Thanks for the tip!
Bokeh is an important feature in modern day cameras or lenses in specific.
Therefore it is important to have an assessment of the boekeh in Fuji X100.
The specification says the lens aperture contains 9-blade diaphragm. This is supposed to give you and all the bokeh obsessed photographers the visual pleasures by means of smooth and round shaped bokeh.
Is it good enough? I think it is better to let you be the judge.
I had a walk in Gastown this morning and did more test shots on the X100.
Have a Merry Christmas!

An edge-on view of a blade of grass weighed down by water drops on both sides. A lighting adjustment brought out the rich background colors in the bokeh and the refractions.

Just for fun, a totally unfair comparison. Different light, date, film, camera, FoV (I know I know). But interesting nevertheless, ya?
This scan shows Kodak Portra 160's incredibly fine grain with just a bit of noise reduction using Adobe Camera Raw or Lightroom...while retaining very good detail information.
I love grain for my personal work, so why remove it? Four words: grain-averse art directors.
Post-processing info: Original scan size: 2000x2500 8-bit crappy oversharpened lab jpg. Adobe Photoshop 5 installed Camera Raw settings: Noise Reduction 25%, NR Detail 26%, NR Contrast 25%, NR Color 0%, Sharpening 0%

ahh todayy was good, Went to my uncles
field searched around. It was a little creepy,
just because its a empty field with random stuff
around it; But its was fun!!.
the bokeh is caused by a huge tree; Btw
i got some many thorn marks "/
btw im gonna take a good picture of my teeth soon!!!
You must think that by now I am horridly obsessed with bokehs, but there's a reason for my insanity...
I simply don't have time to take pictures everyday. I blame school personally, but that's just me.
I wish to develop a regular time in taking photos everyday. Everyone cross your fingers for me! :)

New to me! Scored a new source I’m pretty excited about the basement dwelling I’ll be doing. He has boxes and boxes of lenses. I just didn’t have the time today to hangout.
