Sony NEX 3N with Helios 44M 58mm f/2 M42 lens.
My favourite Helios 44 lens remains the earlier 44-2 version with preset aperture.
The infinitive adjustment of the aperture, plus the fact you can meter wide open then close down to precisely where you want in a split second and with a single finger, make them very easy and rewarding to use.
Plus, although the 44-2s also have eight blades, like the 44M, somehow they remain slightly rounder as you close down, which is a delight for bokeh addicts like myself.
Added to the fact that the 44-2 is smaller and only 3/4 of the weight of the 44M and it's a clear winner.
Both kinds however are capable of wonderful pictures, and amongst all lenses I've used with click stop aperture rings, the 44M still remain very high amongst my very favourites for ease and pleasure of use.
These latest favourites of mine from a couple of outings remind me again why my Helios love affair isn't likely to end anytime soon...

My version of you might be a redneck if.....converted to bokeh addiction
You might be a bokeh addict if...... you find yourself driving home, spot some gorgeous cosmos growing in a strangers front garden, drive past, think to yourself hmmmmm, turn around, stop, get your camera, start taking pictures, realize you don't have a memory card, think to yourself "bummer, I'll just come back some other day", continue on your merry way home, get home, can't stop thinking about those lovely little cosmos, grab a memory card and head back to trespass in a strangers garden........you just might have a bokeh addiction....... that's right, I do!!
Heading out early tomorrow morning for a day-long business trip. I am excited to go, but anxious about the early hour and always worry about whether or not I'll hear the alarm clock and get up in time. (3 am? yikes?!)
My sunglasses remind me of being "on the road", and the light in the kitchen window reminds me of how cozy it feels to be home. For those two reasons, I guess this made sense to me as a diptych.
And as luck would have it, isn't that just the teensiest little bit of bokeh in those sunglasses -- just in time for HBW!

This is Sally.
I really only uploaded this for the Bokeh..I'm a bokeh addict. Sometimes..in movies..when there is alot of bokeh in the background, I cant take my eyes off of it. Weird, I know. but this is probably my favorite picture, bokeh wise.
OH! and I've been tagged..so i'm gonna try to add some ten facts.
1. I am obsessd with the color green. its incredibly lovely.
2. I just got my permit! can i get a woop woop? one step closer to the licence :))
3. I cant really say no to people.
4. I would love to be a writer, or a painter, or any type of artsy person.
5. I'm pretty intelligent, i mean good grades, but I would rather have a creative mind..rather than an intelligent. But I always feel terribly guilty for thinking this..God gave me my gifts so why should I want anything else? But i do..gah.
6. I am a Lutheran born and raised. But I sort of want to switch to Catholic. I'm not sure why.
7. I just realized my tags were really messed up. I don't know how to do that yet. hahah
8. I rarely get angry (well, a real angry ya know?)

10. My middle name by birth is Leigh, but I tell everyone its Lily. My really good friends get really mad when I say its Lily. They always scream ITS LEIGH. But, guys, its Lily.
New to me! Scored a new source I’m pretty excited about the basement dwelling I’ll be doing. He has boxes and boxes of lenses. I just didn’t have the time today to hangout.

This is the first photo of my first outdoor shooting with 50mm. This lens had driven me insane, I couldn't also did not know how to operate it well. Most of the time i stood too close (a bad habit) to the object and I failed to focus :( But on the good side, the lens really bought lots of bokeh which suits a bokeh addict like me :)
