There are three species, the Bohemian, cedar, and Japanese waxwings. The Bohemian waxwing is a is short-tailed, mainly brownish-grey, and has a conspicuous crest on its head. The wings are very distinctive; the flight feathers are black and the primaries have markings that produce a yellow stripe and white "fishhooks" on the closed wing.
Waxwings are primarily fruit eaters, but also consume insects during the breeding season. Mosquitoes and midges are the most common prey, but many other insects and some spiders are eaten.

I really love the fine detail on their feathers.
The Waxwings have stripped off the berries in the two city parks where they were present in large numbers. I hope they find the Mountain Ash trees in my neighborhood before they depart.

The station looks not very spectacular by the first view, but while looking through the hyper wide lens, I only thought: wow!
Like the architect says, the pillars should give us the impression of trees.
And yes, you see right: the station is a little bit curved.

On a mission.
I watched about 40 of these Waxwings flying out from their perches to capture flying insects.
They were all doing it. The trick is to pick one while it is perched, lock on to it, and hope it launches before your arms get tired. I hope to get one in the act of catching a bug.

Montmartre is also the setting for several hit films.

I got lucky again 😁. A group of 33 in Linlithgow today right above my car when I returned from photographing Gulls.

Another shot from my encounter yesterday. They often arrive in very large flocks and cover the tree. I always try to get them on the very outside edge of a branch on the tree they are foraging on.
