One more shot of the boathouse. There is another one about 50 yards to the left of this one, but the red color just grabs me every time.
Here also is some more of tonight's sunset, with no clouds for drama, I found this boathouse
and loved how the sun peeked through it. Below is another shot of the boathouse.
Could not decide which I liked best.
This shot shows the inside of the boathouse. Difficult to get these shots because of the water which washes up onto the walkway frequently - cold and wet feet if you don't pay attention. Water is about 10-12 feet deep in the boat garage. The underside of the floor of Viking Hall can be seen. Sorry for poor quality here.

There are some nice boathouses dotted around the Lake District National Park, but I do think this one takes some beating as a subject.
This was never remotely on our radar though on this day. But weather conditions changed our plans and it became a subject that rather rescued the long drive out to the Western Lakes.
Shortly after this we made our way back to the Central Lakes and hoped for better conditions.
I was taking some shots of the boathouse on Loch Ard, Scotland when this swan just glided past. How could I refuse.
Thank you for any visits, invites, faves and comments, they are greatly appreciated
I was given a wide angle/fisheye lens attachment for my birthday and have been having a play with it. I think it turns my 18-55mm kit lens into a 14mm ultra wide angle lens (though I could be wrong about that) and in some photos I like the distortion it creates around the edges.

This is a scene shot by many photographers. As it is not far from where we live we drove past and as the light was perfect I decided that I needed to shoot it too.
Okay, I know I've posted a number of shots of this boathouse, but this was a rare opportunity to see the log underneath the water, as well as the boathouse and its reflection.
Anne (Amabile) has a great shot of it here: www.flickr.com/photos/arsatty/2602341652/

The beautiful early autumn colours of the Lake District. The Boathouse looking across Rydal with the last remnants of the early morning mist just showing....
Well I had another eventful days photography with Iain (Highlandscape) and Steve (Stoates-Findhorn) in particular getting to the advantage point to take this photograph. Trying to find this illusive boathouse was a tad eventful to say the least, we had to fight our way through bracken, down a hill and over a bog, not an easy feat carrying your camera bag and tripod! Unfortunately the sun was not going to shine or set as we had hoped and after taking this one we decided to call it a day!
A shady corner, still waters, an old boathouse set amongst the shadows. Sit on a log by the waters for a while, open your imagination, and perhaps a water sprite will dance across the glittering sunbeams on the loch.
Number 354 of my 365 photo challenge - A cross-process, long exposure, HDR, landscape image of a jetty and boathouse on the eastern end of Loch Ard in the Trossachs National Park, Scotland, on a very wet and dark day.
Boathouse on the Lullwater of the Lake in Prospect Park is located in the eastern part of Prospect Park on the northeast shore of The Lake. It was built in 1905-07 to a classical design of Helmle, Hudswell and Huberty.
It now houses the Audubon Center, the Audubon Society's only urban interpretive center in the United States.
It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1972.
The Boathouse was seen in Scorsese's movie: The Age Of Innocence (1993) as the Boston park where Archer Newland (Day-Lewis) meets Ellen Olenska (Pfeiffer).
