Wake Up ! or not...

This is cataloged as being taken at E.J. Roberts Park in North Bend, but looking at a map, that park does not appear to be near a lake. Anyone recognize the location? Item 169181, Forward Thrust Photographs (Record Series 5804-04), Seattle Municipal Archives.

Boaters watching the sunset on a warm beautiful autumn evening. That's the Chicago skyline seen from Michigan City Indiana.

i finally got up the guts to mix gingham and plaid, the way i've seen it done in a few different magazines, and also by some of my favourite bloggers...

it helped that the print of the skirt was so small you can barely tell its a print at all from far...

i also finally put my boater on and wore it outside! i didn't wear it to school cause i figured it would blow off my head on the way there, but i will totally wear it out soon!

Central Oregon is rich in the history surrounding the legendary Lewis & Clark Expedition of 1804, the first American expedition to cross and discover what is now the western United States. A lot of landmarks in this area are named after some of the historic heroes of that perilous journey - including Lake Billy Chinook, named after the indian scout who served as a guide for explorer John Frémont. The lake is enormous, and this was our view from the hull of the boat yesterday afternoon.

Praia Riffle - The first turbulence faced by boaters on their Grand Canyon river journey.

Too small to be considered a rapid, it demonstrates the character of Grand Canyon's major rapids in the way it was formed. The Paria River enters the Colorado River, and as a tributary it deposits sediment into the river channel. This debris (including boulders, rocks, sand and gravel) collects and clutters up the river bottom to constrict the channel. As the river flows The channel forces the river into more speed and power. The main river crashes over the debris-strewn riverbed which forms the mild riffles, or crashing rapids.

Vintage, found 35mm Kodachrome slide of unidentified boy & girls. The seller had this described as Japanese. I love the layout of this shot with the boat and smiling faces. Slide mount dates Sept 1963.
