After Terri and I completed our May ‘98 walk of the West Highland Way and said our goodbyes to the group, we rented a car and spent another week digging deeper into the Highlands. The Isles of Skye, Harris and the Outer Hebrides were on self-guided tour agenda. Somewhere close to Dunvegan we came upon this Ancient castle in ruins. Prompting Terri and I to remember a tidbit of information our guide, Jim Kennovin, gave us during our first week walk of The West Highland Way, that is, the owners of buildings without a roof are exempt from paying property tax on that dwelling. #ancientcastles #castlesinruins
