91 105 heads south at Lolham crossing to the north of Peterborough. There was a problem with the cab of the usual DVT behind so this spare loco was put on the front though being blunt end running, was restricted to 110 mph. Another class 91 , 117, was at the other end of the train, unpowered, to pull it back to Leeds.

It was such a nice afternoon, and the Empire Builders were on the way.We both gravitated over to Bobolink Rd., on the other side of Reeseville, to catch them. Not big Amtrak nuts, they do give you the chance to take risks you wouldn't if something really cool was coming.
