I'm late to the party, but I just got back from Yosemite with my friend Joshua Crites.
Great trip all around and spectacular supermoon views and alignment.
I know everyone has seen tons of Blood Moon shots, it was amazing. I got lucky with this single exposure as the full eclipse set into a tree on the granite northern rim of Yosemite National Park.

Blue Moon is the 2nd Full moon of the month. 2018 Blue Moon fall on Jan. 31 and Mar. 31. Next Blue Moon will occur on Oct. 31, 2020.

Una vez cada dos o tres años, en el cielo se puede ver una luna azul. Este viernes se ha podido ver. No es un fenómeno astronómico extraordinario y el satélite no se ve azul. Simplemente es una expresión que se utiliza para denominar la segunda luna llena -cuyo ciclo es de 29 días- dentro de un mismo mes, según cuenta la NASA en su página web

It has a history of about 2,200 years. Its oldest part was built under the Pharaoh Ptolemy IV Philopator, and later decorated by the Nubian king of Meroe Adijalamani to 200-180 a. According to modern folklore, a Blue Moon is the second full moon in a calendar month. Usually months have only one full moon, but occasionally a second one sneaks in. Full moons are separated by 29 days, while most months are 30 or 31 days long; so it is possible to fit two full moons in a single month. This happens every two and a half years, on average.

a little different camera setting this time around to bring in some stars in the background. Blue moon captured without smoke and without clouds which was a treat for me. In case you are wondering:
A “blue moon” it a phenomenon that occurs because full moons take place every 29.53 days – which means the lunar “year” of 12 cycles lasts just over 354 days. This, of course, means the lunar year comes in almost 11 days shorter than the time it takes the Earth to orbit the sun, resulting in some years having “extra” full moons. A blue moon is traditionally defined as the third full moon in an astronomical season containing four full moons – this is what’s happening in August this year. inews.co.uk

This is an early morning shot taken from Movie Flat Road up in the Alabama Hills. I was walking along the road and shooting handheld just playing around with different compositions and then zoomed up to this crop, I thought the clouds looked like a range of mountains with clouds casting a shadow onto them and the mixed lighting gave this some interesting contrast.
