I just processed this a week or so ago and then this Smile on Saturday Theme comes along. I had a big smile because I knew that I had a great shot for it,
Smile on Saturday
Nah, not yet.
It's the edge of a pocket on a pair of my old blue jeans. I wouldn't wear them in public, but they're comfy, and they're still fine for wearing around the house. That way, I don't wear out my good jeans any faster than I have to; blue jeans don't last as long as they used to. The stitching is usually fine, as you see here, but the fabric develops holes...

Our Daily Challenge: "Make Me Smile"
I had this image of staples in some scuffed-up old plastic packaging that I shot for the Macro Monday's "One Use" theme. But I ended up not posting it. So when I saw the ODC "Make Me Smile" challenge...um, well, I decided to see if I could crawl through.

For the Macro Mondays theme of 5/24/2021: BUTTON.
This adorable little Red-eyed Frog is sometimes referred to as 'blue jeans'...this image may explain why. One of many wonderful images and memories that I have from my amazing visit to Costa Rica.
Thank you for your visit and comments, have a wonderful weekend...it's pretty hot here!

"Busted flat in Baton Rouge, waitin' for a train
When I's feelin' near as faded as my jeans
Bobby thumbed a diesel down just before it rained
And rode us all the way into New Orleans
I pulled my harpoon out of my dirty red bandana
I's playin' soft while Bobby sang the blues..."
Today's Macro Mondays theme is "Lockdown Song," or an illustration of a song or genre of music that we listen to while locked at home during the pandemic.
"Me And Bobby McGee," written by Kris Kristofferson, is the song that I'm trying to portray with this image. I've got the faded jeans from line 2 above, and the harpoon (slang for harmonica) and dirty red bandana from the first line of the second verse. (Actually I used an old plaid shirt, as I don't have a bandana) :-)
Here's a link to a version of the song by Janis Joplin, which has long been a favorite of mine: www.youtube.com/watch?v=sfjon-ZTqzU

Blue Jeans have lots of reinforcing stitches! Here is extra stitching on a back pocket, at one of its top corners. Note also the extra stitching on one of the belt loops, just above it.

Thank you for taking the time to view my photo, and for the faves and comments you make, thank you.
There’s nothing like a well worn pair of blue jeans for comfort. But while jeans used to fade but stay intact, that’s not the case any more. These days, it seems, faded jeans tend to wear out quickly, developing holes in the denim along the seams, and belt loops that pull out, such as the one shown here.
Still, my old jeans are a joy to wear, and that’s why I’ve chosen them for this week’s Macro Mondays “Wabi-sabi” theme, which called upon us to find and photograph the imperfections in our lives.
