Last winter during a short photo walk through the park I had an encounter with this beautiful dog. I neither remember his name nor his age, just that he was young and very playful. The owner allowed me to take a little series of pictures and then we went our own ways. I never saw them again. But I will always think back to those incredible crystal blue eyes 💙

It's the first day of the year and Tofu does what he always does, he annoys THE BIRDS. I should mention, though, that he has been a very good and brave kitty lately. He coped better with our visitors than I had expected and the New Year's fireworks didn't seem to bother him at all.
I still have family visiting but they will leave tomorrow and I hope that I will then have time to catch up. Happy New Year !
The lens is dirty because the Dragon always comes running towards me when I want to take a photo and touches the lens with his nose. We are still working on perfect photo model behaviour. :)
On Sunday Tofu apparently didn't pay attention to the weather and was surprised by a thunderstorm. When he came home he looked as he had taken a bath. As Tofu hates getting wet this is an experience he doesn't really need. Today I only had to mention the possibility of rain and he disappeared under the garden table. :)

Tadaaa ! Here is the first one of the annual photos of Tofu wearing his Santa hat. He is quite cooperative but it's not easy to stop him from playing with the pompom. I hope to manage another capture of him with that hat in the next days, maybe one in which he doesn't look as if he only has a huge head and no body. :)
It has been a perfect day for watching birds in the garden today, not super warm but not icy cold either and with beautiful sunshine all day. The birds were very busy and so was Tofu !:)
It's likely that the snow will disappear again in the next few days and Tofu won't miss it one bit. Today he only went out onto the windowsill in front of the basement windows in order to avoid having to step onto snow.
This is a photo I took this afternoon when I was working in my study and the Dragon was resting on a scratchpost behind me. That scratchpost is standing next to the window and is partially covered by the curtain under which the Dragon loves to hide when he takes a nap.
A cat's tail has a life of its own and sometimes it even irritates its owner, although Tofu is usually very proud of his fluffy tail. :)
Tofu was enjoying the sunny weather yesterday and he was about to inspect a bag containing walnuts (which I wanted to put out into the feeder for our resident squirrel) when something strange happened: his sister Cleo came out onto the porch too. He is used to having porch and garden all to himself at this time of year and quite likes that. When Cleo is outside too he always has to make sure to not accidentally run into her because that usually doesn't end well ... :)

Les premières sorties d'un des bébés de la belle Renarde Louka qui se porte beaucoup mieux sont plutôt timides. Il découvre son nouveau monde. La vie sera remplies de surprenantes découvertes à chaque jour. Profite-bien de ta jeunesse adorable petit renardeau!
The first outings of one of the babies of the beautiful mommy vixen (who is doing much better) are rather timid. He/she discovers the new world. Life will be filled with surprising findings every day. Enjoy your youth, adorable little kit!

Tofu does have legs, short legs but they exist. In winter they tend to disappear under his long winter coat and sometimes you only see his paws. The stone cat wasn't impressed and proudly showed her own leg which she grooms endlessly. :)
I met this guy at the flamingo pond in a local park. Of course this isn't a flamingo, it's an African Spoonbill and the first one I have ever seen at that pond. I only had the wide-angle and the macro lens with me and therefore had to sneak quite close. He was worried, not sure if he could trust me, but I told him that I just wanted to take a photo and apparently he believed me. :)
Tofu is patiently wearing his Christmas hat in order to impress Santa and he hopes that he will be rewarded with lots of catnip toys. :)

This is a photo of Tofu as a kitten. He was lying on the fluffy white blanket which he still loves. :) The photo was taken a day or two after he came to me and he was about 4 months old at the time. I think he hasn't changed much over the years although he of course looks more adult now. In the comments I add another capture of Tofu which shows him when he was allowed to go out onto my roof terrace for the first time. This photo shows even better that he was a fluffball from day one. :)

It's still relatively warm for October at the moment but Tofu already tends to disappear under his blankets. He only peeked out for a short moment to allow me to take a photo. :)
No Christmas season without Tofu sporting his elf hat. He doesn't mind wearing the hat and cooperates nicely although he always struggles slightly with the annoying pompom (see photo in the comments). :)
