Richard was in the central headquarters, his brow furrowed as he looked at the young man who had just entered the room. "Who's this kid?" he asked authoritatively, turning to the boss for answers.
The boss approached and introduced the young man as their new colleague, meant to replace Pablo, who was hospitalized. "Richard, this is Alex, our new recruit," the boss announced with a cheerful tone.
Richard nodded, but his expression still showed skepticism. "I'm not going to babysit rookies," he warned sternly, crossing his arms over his chest.
The boss assured him that Alex was an expert in computer systems and new technologies, although he lacked field experience. "He's a genius in his field," the boss added, trying to convince Richard of the young man's abilities.
Alex, aware of the tension in the room, stepped forward and extended his hand to Richard. "Nice to meet you, I'm Alex," he introduced himself with a nervous smile.
Richard shook Alex's hand firmly, evaluating the new recruit with attention. However, his expression softened slightly upon hearing the young man's words.
Alex took the opportunity to share what he had found out about the suspect who had recently escaped from them. "He was trying to plant some sort of bomb in the nuclear power plant," he reported, his tone filled with concern. "Although we're not clear on how he intended to activate it."
Richard nodded, processing the information. "What's the connection between this terrorist act and the forecast of a change in the timeline?" he asked aloud, looking to both the boss and Alex for answers.
"And furthermore, have we managed to deactivate the threat?" he added urgently, his tone reflecting the seriousness of the situation.
The boss shook his head with regret. "We haven't been able to deactivate the threat yet," he admitted. "Perhaps we should try to contact someone from the ministry in the future, to understand exactly the extent of the change that could occur."

Chapter I: The Anonymous Menace
In the bustling headquarters of the Ministry of Time, agent Pablo Torres meticulously reviewed temporal activity reports. His mind was completely immersed in the task when suddenly, an urgent message lit up his computer screen.
"Red alert: temporary activity detected in the year 2025. Possible illegal intrusion. Investigate immediately," the message announced.
Without wasting a second, Richard de Grataine stood up from his desk and headed towards the control room. There, he met his colleagues, agent Pablo Torres and agent Marta Sánchez, along with supervisor Diego García.
"What do we have?" Richard asked as he watched the timeline hologram on the main screen.
Marta pointed to a flashing red dot in the year 2025. "We've detected suspicious activity in New York. It looks like someone is trying to alter the course of an important future event," she reported.
Diego frowned. "We cannot allow that to happen. Richard, prepare to travel. Your mission is to stop any attempted temporal alteration and protect the integrity of the timeline," he ordered.
With determination, Richard adjusted his time travel device and prepared to depart on one of the most critical missions to date. The fate of Earth's history was in his hands, and he could not allow anything or anyone to change it.

“In any corner by night”
The sound of my footsteps seemed louder than usual, as if the city itself wanted to warn me I was alone. The streetlamp flickered like it doubted its purpose, casting long shadows that dragged themselves across the damp ground.
I didn’t expect to find him there, leaning against the corner, suit wrapped tight like a shield, eyes fixed on the pavement. But of course... ghosts keep no schedule, nor courtesy.
“You’re late,” he whispered, without looking up.
“It’s never too late for a mistake repeated,” I said, my voice more broken than I’d meant it to be.
Silence returned, complicit. Sometimes, answers are just echoes of shots already fired.

Richard has made a radical decision: surrender.
Neither art, nor philosophy, not even a good noir novel can compete with the 43 degrees that crawl through the living room like a lazy cat.
There he lies, body melted onto the floor, surrounded by fans like personal bodyguards, clinging symbolically to an open fridge — a modern-day temple where coolness still exists.
Sometimes summer isn’t about picture-perfect beaches, but about bodies sprawled across cool tiles, machines buzzing, and a long sigh between two breaths.

The bathroom light filters weakly through a flickering bulb, casting long, distorted shadows on the cracked tiles. Richard stands on an antique scale, staring at the slowly blinking number as if fate were there, waiting to be revealed.
"Now I weigh less if I carry something in my hand... or the opposite," he says to himself, a cynical half-smile on his lips. The words dissolve into the heavy air, along with the steam rising from the running faucet. The world seems to be collapsing in the confined space of this bathroom, but he keeps waiting, staring at the scale, searching for answers that never come.
The walls hold secrets, the cracks tell stories. And Richard, for some reason, can't stop listening to them.
