I met Erik and Lee in Ann Arbor on the campus of the University of Michigan to take their engagement session pictures. I've known Erik for a few years but was the first time meeting Lee and she is awesome! You got a great lady there Erik! I'm excited to shoot their wedding later this month.

Kristen and Jason are an awesome couple. We met last summer at Jason's sister's wedding and talked up some of our interests with photography. A few months later Kristen asked me to shoot their wedding, I was excited because they both are fun to be around. Then Kristen told me it was a destination wedding to Sanibel Island, Florida, I was even more excited! Kristen and Jason both enjoy creative pictures, so they were interested in a TTD (Trash the Dress) session. I later learned that Kristen's parents encouraged her to trash her dress because it would be a great experience and memory.
Kristen, Jason, my fiance Megan, and I all had a blast shooting on the beach of the Gulf of Mexico. Megan and I were absolutely blessed and beyond thankful for the opportunity Kristen and Jason gave to have us as part of their wedding and trash the dress, thank you both! Thanks for the letting me experiment! Megan and I had a blast doing these and hope you enjoy seeing the finished product!

Bill Davidson, 1922-2009.
Back when I worked for the Palace, I briefly meet Bill in passing. He didn't say much and was known for his strong desire to not be in the public eye. He was a wealthy man and shared that wealth with others through his philanthropic work. Detroit lost a good man.

Today was beautiful out! I spent a few minutes cleaning out my car as it still had Memphis left-overs. As I was cleaning out the passenger's side I found the rose I had given Megan on Beale Street. It was over a week old and sat in my car during the cold and then baking during the day. I actually paid $1 for the rose on Beale Street from some random man selling them... I totally forgot that people will sell anything to tourists and I took it and kept walking. Then the guy was like, "I normally get 3, 4, or 5 dollars for these..." I reached into my wallet and pulled out $1, he walked away somewhat upset.

Shot in the doorway to my garage shooting through an umbrella with a 580EX II to camera left at 45 degrees. I asked Megan to do something crazy with her hair and this is what she did. After a few attempts, we were finally able to get the timing right.
