My first engagement shoot - now over a year and a half ago! I am finding myself revisiting happy memories more and more now given much of my daylight hours are spent looking into issues related to the crisis at hand. These two weren't planning to have engagement photos taken before their summer wedding - but of course that wouldn't be allowed. ;)

I love what Harlow does with Blithe; it always looks so beautiful and it's the perfect setting for photographs.

You cannot really tell what a soft sunset it was from my two latest panoramas. There is a path I follow around a large paddock, to the one side, there is a cosy little bench looking down on a small watering hole, and when I turned around there was this. A cotton- wrapped setting sun shone through reddish autumn leaves. This is the autumn I love best. Aflame in colour in the cold, crisp air, when winter is in the wind and summer is in the gentle warm touch of the sun.
Shop - Carentan, Normandy, France - september 2021
It's in this shop a wounded captain Richard "Dick" Winters, commander of Easy Company, 2nd Battalion of the 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment of the 101st Airborne Division, was treated on june 12, 1944. Winters was hit in the leg during the attack of Easy Company into town.
The town by that time had been largely abandoned by the Germans apart from a small rearguard of German fallschirmjäger of the 6th German Fallschirmjäger division. The Germans returned in force the following day reinforced by the 17th SS Panzergrenadier division. Easy Company then played major role in defending the town which was a crucial position in linking the two US landing beaches Utah and Omaha.
People who watched the "Band of Brothers" series (episode 3 - "Carentan") will remember the scene where Winters was treated and private Blithe suffered from temporary blindness due to battle shock. The actual events happened in this house. It is not far away and in the same street where the German MG position was that Easy Company had to take in the initial stage of the attack.

he is a waiter in a tea stall at "Lalakhal" bazar... though it can be considered as a child labor... he enjoy his job very much... all the time he keep his face smiling... a moment during his blithe movement in his place...
