Source of all blessings, you bless us with moments in which nothing happens---moments of staring into the slowly-burning-down fire, moments in the checkout line or the waiting room. May I not fail to expand into that wide-open expanse of emptiness and pass on this blessing of a wideness more powerful than all the anxiety in the world.

At my friends home in Port Townsend, a woman of expansive heart and great compassion.
Made a quick trip up there for a memorial, another wonderful old friend passed away from cancer. Many thoughts and memories rolling around in my head and heart...good ones. I lived near here for about 15 years, 9 of those years with my husband David who also passed away.
THis woman helped me through that time, just as I helped her when her husband passed sever years earlier. Community... that is what I had there. Music Potlucks on THursday at our house, organic farmers surrounding me, playing on the beaches with the kids large and small...
and i left why?
Well, my life fell apart after David died, and then my mom needed me down here. Actually I needed her!
THis is honoring that abiding sense of community...
and
THis is in honor of both DavidReel, and of Niels Holms... Niels passed on recently and the memorial Saturday was a celebration of his life. We had one like that for David back in 1996, with teh same community... celebrations with food, music, dancing, pictures and stories, many many hugs and tears and laughter, lasting for hours as we gathered together in their memory.
We are all a bit older now, but I was overcome by the timelessness of our sharing and honoring.
I miss Port Townsend... maybe someday I shall return.

My Explore set, thanks to all of you!
Whenever I feel down, sad, unhappy, hateful against myself e.t.c, I open up this jar in which I’ve put a bunch of notes.
On these notes I’ve written down all my blessings in life.
People, things, surroundings and so on, that I am very happy to have in my life, things that can be easy to forget when your not feeling your best!
This is actually something I would advice you to try aswell!
Write down what you are happy to see everyday, people you love, things you feel lucky to have achieved, things you’re proud of yourself for, what you’re good at, traits/features you like about yourself.. And be selfish when trying to find these things you like about yourself! Nothing is too little or too much.
It’s a great way to remind yourself of all the things you’re thankful for in your life, and remember that you have so much more to be happy about than you think!
It is way better to appreciate what you have, than to be unhappy about what you don’t.💜
If you live the life you love, you will receive shelter and blessings. Sometimes the great famine of blessings in and around us derives from the fact that we are not living the life we love; rather, we are living the life that is expected of us. We have fallen out of rhythm with the secret signature and light of our own nature. *John O Donohue*

Shot made just after a bird submurged! Too late to shoot the bird, but it yields an astonishing capture.
‘Blessed art thou, O Christmas Christ, that thy cradle was so low that shepherds, poorest and simplest of earthly folk, could yet kneel beside it and look level-eyed into the face of God.’
Every blessing to all on Flickr this Christmas! And in the words of Howard Thurman, let the work of Christmas begin!
When the song of the angels is stilled,
when the star in the sky is gone,
when the kings and princes are home,
when the shepherds are back with their flocks,
the work of Christmas begins:
to find the lost,
to heal the broken,
to feed the hungry,
to release the prisoner,
to rebuild the nations,
to bring peace among the people,
to make music in the heart.

I am trying really hard to count my blessings these days. I have had a challenging job change due to a merger and my whole life has been turned upside down. I will keep on plugging, though
The little angel that I have bought ( for very little money ) at the market yesterday.
I hope He brings blessings for all of us

PS. A number of people pointed what could have been done better. And I agree with them. And I like this photo anyway!

Built in 1847, The Man Mo Temple is a picturesque tribute to the God of Literature (Man) and the God of War (Mo), both of whom were worshipped by ambitious students looking to succeed in the civil examinations of Imperial China. These involved rigorous systems aimed at finding the best administrative officials for the state.
These coil incense were "lighted" by worshipers whose names were written on a red tag hanging from the incense. It is believed lighting these incense will make one's wishes come true.
