Das Alte Rathaus in Bamberg ist eines der bedeutendsten Bauwerke, das die historische Innenstadt prägt.
Das Wahrzeichen symbolisiert die Herrschaftsgrenze aus früherer Zeit zwischen dem bischöflichen Bamberg und der bürgerlichen Innenstadt. Es ist in den Fluss Regnitz gebaut und die Obere und Untere Brücke (ursprüngliche eine Privatbrücke) führen von ihm weg. Im Inneren ist die zu den Museen der Stadt Bamberg gehörende Sammlung Ludwig ausgestellt, eine der größten Porzellansammlungen Europas.

View from the south towards yet another glass pyramid in Munich's subway system...
This is the roof above the eastern entrance to the subway station Klinikum Großhadern, the southwest terminal station of subway line U6.
Both the eastern and the western entrances of the station feature those 9 m tall pyramidal roofs.
The original planning even called for a height of 18 m and a design matching the Louvre entrance pyramid. One of these taller pyramids should even house a coffee shop. All this fancy planning had to be discarded for budget reasons.

Manarola is probably the most famous photo hotspot in Cinque Terre. This foto was taken on a very hot day at the end of the blue hour
A trip to the Borgfeld Wümmewiesen.
When I woke up, the sky was completely overcast.
My weather app was wrong again the evening before, as it had forecast few clouds.
But after a coffee and a detailed reading of various weather forecasts and especially the cloud radar, the chances of seeing the sun didn't look too bad.
Knowing that there was a certain residual risk to see a contourless white cloud cover instead of a glorious sunrise, I drove off.
Once there, an icy wind was blowing - a good sign. It slowly began to open the cloud cover and so this morning there was a beautiful picture of moving clouds at dawn.

Ein Ausflug in die Borgfelder Wümmewiesen.
Als ich aufwachte, war der Himmel vollständig bedeckt.
Meine Wetterapp lag am Abend zuvor also wiedereinmal falsch, hatte sie doch wenig Wolken vorhergesagt.
Aber nach einem Kaffee und der ausführlichen Lektüre diverser Wettervorhesagen und vor allem des Wolkenradars sahen die Chancen die Sonne zu sehen nicht allzu schlecht aus.
Wohl wissend, dass ein gewisses Restrisiko bestehen bleibt nur eine konturlose weiße Wolkendecke anstatt eines herrlichen Sonnenaufgangs zu sehen, fuhr ich also los.
Vor Ort angekommen, wehte ein eisiger Wind - ein gutes Zeichen. Er begann langsam die Wolkendecke zu öffnen und so ergab sich an diesem Morgen ein schönes Bild ziehender Wolken in der Morgendämmerung.

At the small harbour of Torri del Benaco on the eastern coast of Lake Garda. Torri del Benaco is a nice small town that is not so flooded by tourists as some of the other attractions at Lake Garda.
Am Hafen von Torri del Benaco an der Ostküste des Gardasees. Torri del Benaco ist einer der weniger von Touristen überfluteten Orte am Gardasee.
We recently stayed for 4 days on the Fermeda hut below the Seceda or above St. Christina in Val Gardena on approx. 2100 m, a perfect starting point for hikes and taking photos in the best light (www.fermeda.com/en/Default.asp).
In the picture a small pond only 3 minutes away from the Fermeda hut, about 20 minutes before sunrise on a pretty gray morning (panorama from 6 vertical shots).
Wir wohnten kürzlich 4 Tage auf der Fermeda-Hütte unterhalb der Seceda bzw. oberhalb von St. Christina im Grödnertal auf rd. 2100 m, ein perfekter Ausgangspunkt für Wanderungen und zum fotografieren im besten Licht (www.fermeda.com/de/Default.asp).
Im Bild ein kleiner Teich nur 3 Minuten von der Fermeda-Hütte entfernt, ca. 20 Minuten vor Sonnenaufgang an einem ziemlich grauen Morgen (Panorama aus 6 vertikalen Bildern).

Vernazza together with Manarola is the most beautiful village in Cinque Terre and this perspective is for me the most spectacular of this picturesque village. At this day I was very lucky to enjoy a wonderful sunset with some wonderful shots
Today it is once again time to keep a promise.
About a week ago I shared another photo of the Basilica di San Lorenzo, with an almost identical composition.
However, no week has passed between the two shots, but only about 2 hours. The sun has meanwhile made its way over the hills that almost entirely surround Florence, casting a cloak of beautiful golden light over the city.
Where I spontaneously thought of a spaceship when I saw the first version, here it is, the fairy tales from 1001 Nights (I hope that tells you something) that this sight reminds me of.
Heute ist es einmal mehr an der Zeit, ein Versprechen einzulösen.
Vor ungefähr einer Woche habe ich hier ein anderes Foto der Basilica di San Lorenzo, mit einer nahezu identischen Komposition, gezeigt.
Zwischen den beiden Aufnahmen ist jedoch keine Woche vergangen, sondern lediglich ca. 2 Stunden. Die Sonne hat es zwischenzeitlich über die Hügel geschafft, die Florenz fast vollständig umgeben und legt nun einen Mantel aus wunderschön goldenem Licht über die Stadt.
Wo ich bei der ersten Version spontan an ein Raumschiff gedacht habe, so sind es hier, die Märchen aus 1001 Nacht (Ich hoffe, dass sagt Euch etwas), an die mich dieser Anblick erinnert.

P.S. For those of you interested in historic information:
The flat bulding right to the christmas tree is the "Wurstkuchl" - a diner where sausages are served. Its origin goes back to the construction of famous Stone Bridge in 12th century and it is supposed to be the oldest sausage diner in the world. A must for every Regensburg visitor!
Despite the arrival weather, we were quite lucky with the weather in the city. Many efforts got rewarded, if I am allowed to judge...this one is looking at Manhattan skyline from Brooklyn park. Have a good remaining week! Thanks, Udo.
At the beginning of this week at minus 4 ° Celsius on the Moselle.
The sun rose over the horizon about 40 minutes later while the crescent moon slowly faded.
Anfang dieser Woche bei minus 4° Celsius an der Mosel.
Die Sonne stieg erst ca. 40 Minuten später über den Horizont während die Mondsichel langsam verblasste.

About two years ago I got an idea to shoot Skyline Frankfurt while skyscrapers towering over a sea of fog. Since then I waited in vain for this moment. 01.11.2015 I was finally able to achieve this important and difficult goal.

Noch was cooles von diesem Abend.
Vor etwa zwei Jahren bekam ich die Idee die Skyline Frankfurt zu fotografieren, während die Hochhäuser über den Nebel ragen. Seitdem wartete ich vergeblich auf diesen Moment. Am 01.11.2015 konnte ich endlich eines meines wichtigsten und schwierigsten Vorhaben umsetzen.
