At their wintering grounds in New Mexico snow geese will congregate by the hundreds, roosting overnight in shallow ponds. Early in the morning they 'blast off' together as they begin their day. It is an amazing sight to see so many birds in the air and once. There is an extraordinary whooshing sound as they fly directly overhead.

Some nice quality photos of another updated version of my replica of the DL-44 blaster, the iconic sidearm given to Han Solo by Tobias Beckett.

I think the only thing left to give a solid update would be the handle, but I have yet to find a design I like.

Enjoy!

Through the creations that I build, I hope to inspire other young (or perhaps older) LEGO builders to unleash their inner creativity. We all need a positive way to express ourselves, so let's allow LEGO to be an extension of us. Your creativity belongs to you, and nobody can take that away. Build what you want to build, and how you want to build it.

Got up this morning to go down to the "chemical beach" at Seaham / Dawdon, as I figured the tide would be right for the sea stack and groynes. As it happens, the tide was perfect, but huge waves were rolling up the beach and smashing against the cliffs, meaning it would have been toast for any photographer foolhardy enough to make a dash for it!

As I was balanced on the massive granite coastal defences, pondering what to do, I heard noise behind me only to find my fellow togs Steve, Ant and Mark pottering down after me.

Due to the limited space, we were all getting in each others way so I decided to head over to the blast beach, figuring that the combination of black "coal" sand, interesting rocks and massive swell could lead to some interesting shots.

This is exactly what I was aiming for, except for the fact I underexposed it! Given I never did manage to get the waves right on subsequent attempts, I've had to push this more than normal, so there's a little noise in the sky.

P.S. Given this was taken with at about 10mm and the waves are breaking on the horizon line, you get the feel of how "energetic" this mornings waves were.

Everyone else has been doing spinner MOCs, so I wanted to try something different. A lot of work went into securing the connection of the pistol grip. The trigger is semi-functional, using a click-hinge that returns to center.

If a blaster is considered the complete history of Corvis Minor, I'm thinking it's not a vacation spot.

A small blaster that's only good for 4 to 5 shots. But maybe good enough to save a life.
