The "Drei Zinnen" are three distinctive battlement-like peaks, in the Sexten Dolomites of northeastern Italy. They are probably one of the best-known mountain groups in the Alps. The three peaks, from east to west, are:
- Cima Piccola / Kleine Zinne ("little peak") (2,857 metres (9,373 ft))
- Cima Grande / Große Zinne ("big peak") (2,999 metres (9,839 ft))
- Cima Ovest / Westliche Zinne ("western peak") (2,973 metres (9,754 ft))
Until 1919 the peaks formed part of the border between Italy and Austria-Hungary. Now they lie on the border between the Italian provinces of South Tyrol and Belluno and still are a part of the linguistic boundary between German-speaking and Italian-speaking majorities.
Mountains are my passion
Torres del Paine National Park, Chilean Patagonia
Another one of these pictures from times where I was still shooting film with my Nikon F-501, back in january 2000.
The longing for distant travels lets me, meanwhile regularly, go through my photo albums and capture one or the other 'piece of jewelry' with my cell phone. The quality with a DLSR would certainly be different, but the beauty of these mountains can hardly be disfigured by anything.

Around Christmas we strolled through an open air museum and enjoyed its rural atmosphere. This church is an example of simple half-timbered construction and doesn't differ much from the rural houses of the area.
All buildings in the open air museum were carefully and meticulously dismantled from their original locations and transported to the new site. At their new location, the buildings were reassembled and restored to their original condition. This process required close collaboration between architects, historians, and craftsmen to ensure that the buildings are authentic and functional. An effort that was well worth it.

Inside those magnificent gardens of Suzhou life is still circulating freely: after the rain those lotus were full of energy.

Man Mo Temple is a jewel of light and atmosphere, totally cinematographic. Everything in there breathes life and spirituality.

[ti sto guardando]
this wouldn't be the usual photo "I've blue eyes, you've them not". simply, I had nothing to do :) besides, I like dark eyes more. I think dark eyes are more expressive.
[edited with photoshop] [my skin isn't so white :P maybe I'm pale, but not white like a ghost :D ].
