Had a exploratory walk today to join up a number of other walks so from Glynde south and up onto the downs at the Firle Masts then west to Sothease and then along the river to Lewes and back over Mt Caburn to Glynde and there was loads to see on the way about 13 miles with 3 steep climbs.
This little flower was in the hedgerow and against a really dark background
This Bladder wrack/Rockweed and barnacles was found on the beach in front of Middle Beach Lodge outside of Tofino. It was taken during March Break 2011.

Det oppblåste begeret under blomsten er det mest karakteristiske med denne planten. Det engelske navnet bladder vetch er beskrivende. Blomstene har gul kjøl og hvit fane. Begeret er formet som en oppblåst avlang og spiss sekk. Fra lys grønn til rødburgunder farget. Bladene er runde og skjeformete.
Planten er for vanligst krypende med blomster i klaser.
This was a bad surprise. We thought she was having a chronic/recurring mild bladder infection, and that it wasn't that big a deal, we just needed to culture the urine to find which antibiotics the infection was resistant/susceptible to. It was difficult to get a sterile urine sample via cystocentesis because her bladder was so small (she was too uncomfortable to hold it for long and kept peeing before it got full), so we were using an ultrasound probe to visualize it, when the Dr. said, "WHAT is THAT?!" and suggested we take Xrays right away. seriously fed up of the insurance claim following our burglary/bike + bike stuff theft at the end of september. the loss adjusters crawford are really unprofessional, they can't coordinate for toffee and seem like they just can't be arsed with our claim. axa the insurance company have stepped in but the ongoing to-ing and fro-ing over each individual item is doing my head in - here is a photo of a burst camelback bladder and broken glasses - both probably trodden on by our burglars. having to supply this to substantiate we actually own them as we don't have receipts for everything...
