Tanti Baci (Many Kisses) in all its sparkling glory.
To be candid, creating this necklace petrified the heck out of me. So much solid gold wire, so many solid gold headpins.
But now that Tanti Baci is completed, I find myself addicted to solid gold .. love 'em, hate 'em, can't live without 'em.

"La Belle Dame sans Merci" (French meaning, "The Beautiful Lady without Pity") is a ballad written by English poet John Keats. It exists in two versions, with minor differences between them, the original written by Keats in 1819. The title, however, is that of a 15th Century poem penned by Alain Chartier.
With melodic prose, the poem weaves an alluring tapestry which beautifully captures an encounter between an unnamed knight and a mysterious woman who is said to be "a faery's child".
It opens with a description of the knight in a barren landscape, "haggard" and "woe-begone". He tells the reader how he met a beautiful lady whose "eyes were wild"; he set her on his horse and she took him to her "elfin grot", where she "wept, and sigh'd full sore". Falling asleep, the knight had a vision of "pale kings and princes", who cried, "La Belle Dame sans Merci hath thee in thrall!" He awoke to find himself on the same "cold hill's side" after which he continues to wait and "palely loitering".
Despite "La Belle Dame Sans Merci" being short (only twelve stanzas of four lines each), it is choc-a-bloc with enigmas. A straightforward reading suggests that the Belle Dame entraps him, along the lines of tales like Thomas the Rhymer or Tam Lin.
Like woah.

LA BELLE DAME SANS MERCI is part of the MATA HARI Collection.
An artistic showcase of bejewelled interpretations inspired by the captivating and openly flirtatious dance movements pioneered by Dutch-Frisian Exotic Dancer and Courtesan, Mata Hari.
Bold, provocative designs synonymous with the term Femme Fatale.
Grabbing the spotlight in my interpretation of the affair is a Flamboyant, Feathered Fascinator like no other.
A ménage à trois of Speckled, Golds and Burgundy frou frou flirts with you outrageously whilst the sexiest Victorian Art Deco Jet Mourning Glass Tassel is ever so scandalous! Saucy bits of ripped Italian Leather drip deliciously Southwards. Daring and more than a wee bit rockstar, Copper Chains drape here there everywhere as you discover Rare Brazilian Green Apatite, Silver Pearls, butter-won't-melt-in-your-mouth Pink Tourmaline, a Rosey Sapphire, hardcore Black Sapphires and one single solitary Pink Kunzite.
Just to be cheeky, I added an Antique Victorian Bullion Gold Fringe circa 1850s, taken from a priest's vestment.
With feathers stretched, AFTER PROFUMO measures 8" across by 11" in length ... emm, I meant the Fascinator. Double Alligator Clips ensure no slippage and maximum comfort.
