Street photo is about timing. Sometimes it's an urban moment, some other times it's something in the scenery that catches your eye. The moment can be gone really quick, and for the scenery to make sense to capture it, you might have to be patient for the right moment to come. Maybe someone interesting to walk in your frame, or something to happen. I found this mural very bizzare yet it did strike me as allegoric. Maybe the artist wanted to show how big cities feel like prisons, where the highrises limit our view of the sky.. who knows? what I know is that this mural can be found at Horton Plaza Park in San Diego, California.

Much of my life I remember as a series of bizzare, surrealistic dreams. Difficult to interpret at best, but the soundtrack has been awesome. If this be the apocalypse, let the band play on!

One from the garden earlier. There were a number of Nuthatches in the trees most of the day. Some of the individuals, whilst looking like adults, were this year's fledged juveniles. Seconds after I took this image, one of the young Nuthatches bizzarely did a Kingfisher impression by diving into the pond. In reality I think it may have mistaken pond weed for solid ground.
It was so cool going to the Smith Oaks Rookery for the first time. I had never seen anything like it. I had seen my first Roseate Spoonbill a day before in South Padre Island but never up close like this. It was funny watching these clumsy birds try to balance on top of these tiny branches as they collected nest material. What interesting and strangely beautiful, charismatic birds they are! I have always wanted to see one. They were nesting beside other birds, such as Tricolored Herons, Great, Cattle and Snowy Egrets and Neotropic Cormorants. There were hungry alligators waiting for any young bird that unfortunately dropped from the nest. Purple and Common Gallinules, Anhinga, White Ibis and Little Blues were also present. This park was really birdy and I was able to see some beautiful Prothonotary and Cape May Warblers and Yellow-billed Cuckoos. Too much for the senses to handle! I really didn't know where to look! All the birds in the rookery were in gorgeous breeding plumage and the sounds the Snowy Egrets made were the strangest I'd ever heard. The best moment was watching two Spoonbills clap their bills together affectionately. I got a few photos of that magical encounter.

Not a fabulous image technically, but I like what it shows: the results of the rapid drumming of the male's breast feathers with its broad bill by which the duck presses air from under its breast feathers. In this case, two shock waves of air-filled water radiate out from the duck from successive drumming motions. A third wave has already dissipated. About about 5 - 8 total beats would be done each time, but not all result in such clean looking waves.
Probably my favourite from the Ferosh Collection by Lyrical Bizzare - Kayra I comes with top part and skirt part as separate together with headpiece and floral additions.
(Doh.. now that I'm looking at these pics I'm realising I didn't get one that showed the back which is also detailed. Guess you'll have to go see for yourself :-))

Ghostly art installation at the Goldwell Open Air Museum in the ghost town of Rhyolite near Beatty, Nevada.
Well I finally had time for Flickr today. This shot was taken a few days ago, but I only had a bit of free time only now to upload it due to a ever increasing demand on my time.
The photo itself is a somewhat bizzare one taken under rather bad circumstances. Just when I finally had the chance to go down to the rather somewhat isolated Sungei Boloh Wetland Reserve, it had to rain rather heavily of all times.That meant that I could only shoot for a short while for a first visit.
Up till now, I am not sure why the buildings on the Johor side of the Singapore strait are slanted to one side for some reason. I was not able to get it upright despite adjustments, so I decided to leave it that way. I would suppose that would add to the mystery of the photo, along with the rain that kinds of grain the photo too.
I have seen many Laysan Albatross adults before but I have never seen a chick! It was so cool to find a nest. In Princeville Laysans nest right on people's front lawns! It is truly so bizzare but so cool at the same time!

Somewhere in our universe, on a strange, insignificant planet, a foreboding, semi-translucent black monolith flickers like a ghost stuck between two worlds. In the distance, a looming planet, partially illuminated by a nearby star, takes on the sinister appearance of a crazed grin, as if anticipating what you are about to discover. Step a little closer to the monolith for a better look, and you realize it is not a solid piece of material, but rather, an eerie doorway, or portal, to another dimension--a galactic wonderland where reality is bizarre beyond your wildest imaginations. Incidentally, a sentient being crossing over the opposite way, from the other dimension to ours, thinks the exact same thing about our apparently "normal" universe.
Perhaps Life is much stranger than we thought...

I have seen many Laysan Albatross adults before but I have never seen a chick! It was so cool to find a nest. In Princeville Laysans nest right on people's front lawns! It is truly so bizzare but so cool at the same time! I watched pairs of adults do head bobbing and courtship dances it was so fun to watch.
Actually Jamaica Beach is a shore of Lake Garda, but the low water level showed bizzare rock formations.

Allan Gardens Conservatory is a major landmark and tourist attraction in downtown Toronto. Its historic, cast-iron and glass domed "Palm House" was built in 1910 and is designated under the Ontario Heritage Act. A botanical gem in the heart of the city, Allan Gardens has a permanent collection of exotic plants and beautiful seasonal flower shows.
The world of plants is often one of strange beauty and pure wonder. Coming in many shapes and sizes, plants are all unique in some way, yet cacti are some of the most amazing plants in the world. Protected by an outer layer of spines, cacti endure some of the harshest and demanding environments. Relying on their incredible water storage abilities and thick skin to prevent water loss, cacti are hidden deep in the driest deserts and even up in the peaks of some mountains. While cacti are certainly unique amongst other plants, some are bizzare—even by cacti standards. 119
A bizzare night, we found the stadium of the city of Bologna, totally opened and totaly empty, so me, August, Lorenz and Lollhausen started immediately shooting.

Well, most of them are toxic and deadly, but still magical...
All hail the Mother of Geese!
Beside being a talented photographer, there's a whole other reason I stalk Caiti. Between geese, memes, thoughts, and head-scratchers, she provides one of my favorite social media feeds. Because I'm guaranteed to snicker, have an unlikely thought - am I a honker or a finger-giver? - or simply read an opinion through which I get to learn something about her and others. Realities, dreams, struggles, opinions, and everything else humans are made of.
Seriously though. Caiti, it was great meeting you. Talking food, commiserating over our mutual love for materials, trading casual horror stories and having a good laugh at how bizzare some humans can be was exactly what doing this kind of thing is about. Finding various common grounds in big and small things. Taking a moment to get to know people, to learn something about the individuals behind the Flickr feeds and - as it were - the geese. This turned out perhaps a bit more pensive than intended, but then the conversation took so many turns to warrant that. So thank you for making the time to come over and pose for me, and thank you for the conversation.
