While walking on the Audubon Corkscrew Swamp boardwalk, this American Bittern appeared out of the swamp. A lifer for me and the docents who protected it -- never before seen like this. I'll add a few photos of the many I took. He seemed to think he was in the weeds.

A short story for this series, I happened to spot this bird while driving, was shooting out the passenger window, hard as heck to get a good shot, and the bird tried its best to stay with vegetation between us, I'm used to seeing them stock still, this one was moving like a freight train stopping only for a second or two, it finally broke out into the clearing where it let me get out for a couple quick shots then back the way it came.
