This berry bit is one of several that calved off a larger jagged edged arctic iceberg in Bauline. Icebergs are now being sighted in many locations along the northeast coast of Newfoundland. From this angle this one somewhat resembles a swimming polar bear!

found this guy inside my screened in porch. no idea how he got in since theres no door and he wasn't at all happy about me chasing him around till i managed to catch him. as you can see he bit me too. it barely felt like anything.

A bit touristy - actually very busy with hundreds of folks walking through, but it was a nice stop to get out of the car and stretch a bit. And eat some fresh cheese and ice cream as well. The lighting in here was harsh sodium vapor lights so the color is a bit washed out...
Bits and pieces from our West Coast Fly Drive in autumn 1988.
We stayed a couple of nights here on our way back down to Los Angeles. The big thing to see here is Hearst Castle, but unfortunately advance booking is required as it is such a popular attraction.
Instead we went to the Pesenti Winery, then on to the Arciero Winery. After that we had a walk on the beach below Morro Rock, and drove around Cambria. We used to spend some holidays at Cambria when I was a kid.

A bit of extra aerial power being added in readiness for the switchover to digital. The Oxford transmittor is switching off its analogue transmitter on the 14th September 2011 and thereafter it will only transmit a digital signal.
One of the last images I took in Hawaii before leaving in 11/09. These broken pieces of shells were shot with my iPhone, hence the poor quality. Edited in picnik.
Played around a bit with Photoshop. Took two versions of the picture: one with the shutter set to 1/100 (to get the detail on the moon), one with the shutter open for 10 seconds (to get the trees that framed the moon).
The end result looks too obviously manipulated to me (you can tell the edges of the moon were cropped), but I'm at least starting to understand Photoshop, RAW images, and the various moving parts.
Baby steps...
