A bit of a botched job, unfortunately. But live and learn. I had a long lens mounted as I was passing the cafe and M. Elgin's socks stopped me in my tracks. I quickly swapped to what I thought was my 30mm, but was actually the 50mm. So after having explained the project, when I crouched down directly in front of them, I was too close.

So I moved off centre and shot. The neighbouring table and teapot intruded as a result (and the DoF a bit shallower than desired). With two toddlers rapidly approaching 'seriously bored' I grabbed a couple quick shots and said thanks. The results are ok, but not quite what I really wanted.

Many thanks to M and Mme Elgin, and his brilliant socks.

Drill bits to use in adding locks to the doors. It's about time to get third locks to the doors because the little girl a.k.a Madison thinks she's all that grown up and just decides to open up the door and lead her way to the garage.

Totally taken yesterday at around 10:30 pm...:)

The community group the Darkwood Crew held its first “Walk about a bit” for kids and adults alike. The first 1k group lead by Karen and the second 3k group where lead by Demi, who where both from the Pals of the Privies community group. While I fallowed Terry from the Darkwood crew whose 5K walk ringed Ferguslie park while trying to avoid the main roads for safety and where I shoot these photos before heading back to the green. Here we had lunch, played bingo as the kids bounced around in the inflatable castles and all had a great time…

Speak of childhood memories!!!

One night we had some gusty winds, a bit thundery, so in our garden on the grass were hundreds of those, blown off their home, the maple tree... No seed in there yet, they were fresh, so no flying... we'll have to wait for Autumn.

The innocent fun you could have with those twirly thingies, throwing them up, running after them (kept us fit!), guarding your 'best' ones!

Used the ring flash on this.

Now, DO NOT rush out to get one of those!

It is not a priority, has quite 'limited' usage, is particular and specific and not the easiest to use! I use it together with other sources of lighting, but that's my game, my challenge(obsession?) PLAYING and PAINTING with light.

Sometimes I just 'feeeeeeeeel' like this, an image in b&w...

I love the subtle tones, all the varied tones, that give the flower/petals/stems their texture, depth and form, their delectable shapes accentuated, extracted and emphasized without the colour. Don't you agree?

Have a fun day and thanx, M, (*_*)

This year, the Pavilion on the lawn by The Serpentine Gallery, in Hyde Park is designed by the French Architect, Jean Nouvel, his.first completed building in the UK

This Building is Red, very Red.

It features a strange French notion of naming something that did not need to be named in order to draw attention to that thing, thereby giving it more meaning and more substance than would otherwise be given This began thirty years ago with, Le Bag, and Le Shirt, and Le Boutique, and Le Car, from Renault. This fad caught on and let's face it certainly contributed to the notion of Le Pretentious Prat, or what Monty Python would call, "Le stating of le bleeding obvious".

Jean Nouvel has revived this tradition by naming the sky, and the colour of the Building Red and what compliments that colour, le colour of the Kensington Gardens, Green.

Voila!

My Spanish art teacher despised unnecessary signs, and hieroglyphics regarding them all as Fascistic. He was particularly offended by and indeed removed Heath and Safety notices like "Do not use the Fire Bucket" for example. "Do not" was not in his vocabulary.

Years later I was asked to design about thirty shops for an oil company. These would be convenience stores attached to Petrol Filling Stations. I received my brief at the height of the Le Bag spin-off craze, I was asked to provide a large shopfront sign board, simply saying just one word, "SHOP" in 1 metre high letters.

In the spirit of my Spanish Art Teacher, Erasmo Fernandez who I loved, and at risk of losing my commission. I let my feeling be known to my employer.

"Surely, we can all see that it is a Shop," I dared suggest.

Naturally, I compromised and gave them exactly what they wanted in the interest of paying my Gas bill.

In due course that company were declared Les Bankrupt of ideas and they no longer exist.

Nevertheless the Pavilion is splendid and deserves a visit.

BIT is a coffee shop in Oslo Sm the main railway station in Oslo.

So I struggled a bit with which picture to choose... but I thought, especially as the introductory picture... this suited my 5 year old Belgian Malinois male: Spot- quite well. This is at the huge field that we train on, we had already tracked and worked obedience- and then he ran around with his cousin and my other mali female, Freya.

He's wearing his new back-pack for when we go on longer trails, he's got one of his favorite toys, he's resting, and also keeping an eye on Freya so that she doesn't goose him. :-) The sun was setting and I either had really awesome light.. or none at all.

He was so relaxed, and super happy yesterday. :-) After having a very hard month in December with our first trial and lots of extra training and nerves from me... the theme song came to mind as we had our great training session and his fun runnaround with Freya: "How Stella... I mean SPot... Got his Groove Back!"

A bit disappointed with how blown the structural members are in this image, but the light was so harsh that i was hard to strike the right balance. Had I been shooting digital I would have been able to see the result and reshoot straight away of course... but there you go, win some, lose some...

Revisiting a site that features in some of my first Flickr postings - this time the images are much bolder, less straight (for better or worse)...

You can just see the corner of the Council Chamber building (featured in my previous post) on the right of this image...

Bit of a crap photo, taken on top of an even crappier looking ironing board, but you get the idea.

Bit of a mystery this one. The registration number came to this car in 2000, it originally belonged to a 1962 3.8 litre Coupe, that car is now registered FSL 776.

Bit of a hairy landing for this NWA Airlink CRJ-900 (N922XJ is flown by Mesaba for Northwest) as it lands on one main. Landings like this weren't all that unusual this particular day. At one point the wind got so bad that flights were electing to hold in hopes of the wind dissipating. It wasn't unusual to see 15+ aircraft all in line waiting to take off on 31L.
