A bit closer view of the same sparrow posted already. The palmettos were really yellow -- not sure if that is a fire thing or maybe because it has been dry there. Interesting, anyway.
Bachman's Sparrows are endemic to the Southeastern US and considered a near threatened species. Florida is their last stronghold. They are considered secretive and hard to see, but at Kissimmee Prairie Preserve they may be seen relatively easily, often even from the main road -- especially in spring and early summer when the males perch up and sing -- just listen for their song.

Paint them red and you'll nearly be there. However, Enviro400s might be common in London but these are the first Scania examples to have operated there. Having seen them on the Sunday on rail reps, Stephenson's Enviro400s were duping the 205. Buses on this service tended to run in pairs or greater.
_ACB4868-Edit - A little bit of blue with some fluffy stuff from Bembridge at the weekend.
Bit more f'in around f22 at 1/40, probably on the high f's didn't look bad at f18, but lost some of trunk marking and cloud definition, camera settings don't let you go above 22 once below 1/125 so a little bright in the foreground, but otherwise pleased with the result.
Bit of a lazy bus photting session in Newbury for me today (29/03/2021) as I opted to just stand around the town's newish bus station rather than go hunting for different locations etc. It was just nice to be outside in some very pleasant early Spring sunshine for a couple of hours!
Anyway, since my last visit in 2018, the scene has changed somewhat with a new and relocated bus station and a new livery adorning the Newbury & District fleet, part of Reading Buses of course.
Stagecoach turned up with a couple from Basingstoke and one from Andover, Reading Buses with a few from Reading, and a random training bus passed by for good measure!

Bit of a test we tried at the Essex group shoot.
The background was white and there was quite a bit of ambient light which made this pigging difficult. Much easier on a black background in a dark room.
580EX II camera left, 554EZ camera right both set in "Multi" mode at 3Hz, 6 flashes and 1/32 power. Triggered with RF-602 wireless.
A bit of an abstract take on the Peter Iredale shipwreck on the Oregon Coast. As a trained engineer and rather inflexible thinking guy, these kind of shots are few and far between for me. But I am trying, and just maybe there will be more to come!

I've finally found the inspiration I was needing to get started on a plan for decorating the house. I love the creative process; once it starts, I find it hard to sleep for the noise of the wheels turning in my head :) The ideas come so fast, it's hard to keep up with them, so I keep a notebook with my drawings and bits from magazines and catalogs that serve to remind me of the basic design I am working to achieve.
The things you see here are ideas for my master bathroom. A bit of drama, some sparkle, a little elegance. All the things I love so much.
And yes, the wine and chocolate helps :D
