after much success with the pear-almond frangipane bites and not having poached pears at my disposal i threw in some toasted coconut and sunk a chocolate morsel in the center for a new treat. to dress them up i drizzled chocolate over the top.

I went grocery shopping with my girlfriend and this called to me. I figured it was either eat it or snap a pic of it, so I went with the healthier option.
A neat attraction at the Adventure Aquarium is a glass tunnel that allows you to walk under swimming fish. Even with all that glass between us this is one scary looking mouth!

Rather than using zoom, I try to get right in close with macros but normally these spiders are very alert and dart away from the centre of their web, at the slightest movement, as quickly as they pounce on their prey (protection against birds, I suppose). This one was determined to finish its meal and after about three or four unsuccessful approaches it failed to notice the looming lens. Would've preferred a head-on shot really but this shows that they could actually be strokeable... with a very tiny finger.
