Broadcast actually shares her birthday with Satomi Matsuzaki of Deerhoof, who also loves cats so I waited until Caturday to celebrate with Broadcast. Don't worry, though, she has gotten lots of treats both today and on her birthday, which was Purrsday!

taken from a bouquet for our mutual birthday... my daughter unexpectedly being born a few weeks earlier, on my 27th birthday... she was just ready to make it a very special day...35 years ago already while she 's now halfway her 1st pregnancy herself... so I am looking forward to becoming a grandma in June!
Today we are celebrating the 16th birthday of my very best cat friend. The pirate and I have been through a lot together and he is still going strong. Later in the day the cats will have a party with lots of treats.♥ :)

Today Bailey celebrated his 13th birthday! He's had a rough 2020, just like the rest of us. A bad dog fight ending in two surgeries, and a really bad hot spot resulting in him becoming septic. He is recovering well despite his age, and enjoyed some new birthday toys and treats.

This old fella, the one on the right, turned 18 yesterday. He hasn’t been in the best of health for the last couple of years and we really thought he was on his last legs a couple of months ago, but a new vet worked magic and he’s quite rejuvenated. In fact he keeps trying to go off on adventures despite being deaf and rather lame with arthritis. Stelios very much appreciated all his FB birthday wishes yesterday, thanks Guys 💕

So, my hubby kept laughing at me for my Crocs with the daisies on, said i was funny and cute, for which I replied 'i bet you would like a pair of crocs with your own flowers' fast forward a few days to his birthday and I had these Camo Crocs waiting with my own home grown Gerberas as personalised Jibbitz.
Just hoping to make a smile or two at our very stylish family this weekend....

I'm driving home today, so I will be on the road all day today again!!
This cattle egret was one of 18 (!) in a field about 5 miles from my home. It was raining lightly all day, very gloomy, but we had taken a drive and enjoyed lunch out for my birthday. As we returned home, road construction caused us a slight detour- and I could not believe my eyes as we passed a field (in a very busy area) with what I was sure were cattle egrets dotted around in the tall grasses. They show up in Indiana from time to time but are not common here, and usually in very small numbers. I turned around, drove back and pulled in the driveway beside the pasture, and as I took a few photos my husband counted 18! I see this is dated 2020, looks like I need to correct my camera. This is 2021.

Kelela's birthday was on Saturday and I wanted to say Happy Birthday in my own way.
Some of you who are new to my stream may not realize that I used to primarily be a concert photographer and that I have slowly gotten into more street photography as time has gone on. But, even so, that instinct is still the same-to truly get things right when capturing human energy and the moment and to further my understanding of others and their range of emotions. Whether I am photographing a stage or a street scene, I am a searcher and am trying not to document what things or people looked like but something deeper. Sometimes I fail but sometimes I get it right. I hope I got it right this time.
I did take a few photos on Saturday of the Black Lives Matter protests in Chicago but not of the actual protestors. I took photos of people watching from their windows instead....mainly, because I was there as an ally and to be an active participant and I wanted to make sure I was respectful at all times. I am also concerned that those who participate might be targeted by others in terms of violent acts.
So, instead of for now showing photos of the protest (as so many exist elsewhere and mine are extremely limited), I am going to showcase some of the musicians I have taken photos of in the past few years and celebrate their works. It will be a bit of a change from my usual stream but hopefully not disappointing. I have been very sad that music festivals have been cancelled and also so many concerts I was planning on attending because of this virus but at least I have some of these memories.
