Hi I'm Gary and I live in North Warwickshire.

The sparrow hawk was perched on my back garden fence so I quickly grabbed my camera put on my 300mm prime lens and shot away through the glass I'd have liked to have got the bird flying away but it happened too quickly.

I believe this is a Ferruginous Hawk.

The ferruginous hawk is currently classified “at-risk” by the General Status of Alberta Wild Species Report, and “endangered” under the Wildlife Act.

Birds of Prey demo at RHS Wisley.

Taken a few years back and revisited. Flew directly over me whilst lying on my back, was about arms length and I felt the draft.

Not the best shots, not sure what type of bird they are. They didn't stop long enough for me to get a good look at them

.

I know its hard to make out the eaglets. They are sound asleep. The focus here is Dad. It is rare for him to be watching the kids over night. I guess mom needed a break. (Photoshop Art)

The two Great Horned owlets were hiding on the opposite side of the nest from where they usually rest. The sun was shining brightly on their usual spot and I think they were just trying to stay in the little bit of shade available.

Just as I was getting ready to leave a red shouldered hawk decided to stop by and antagonize the owl's parents for a little while. As the hawk squawked loudly in the tree above the nest, I could here the parents hooting back and forth to each other. When the hawk got a little close to the nest mom swooped in from a near by tree and made her presence known. There was a brief squabble and the hawk retreated to the tree top and continued to disturb the peace. The two parents sat silently a few feet apart in the tree between the hawk and the nest. Dad seemed to completely ignore the hawk, but mom watched it....well, like a hawk... At one point the hawk swooped on the male and he never even flinched. Mom just sat and rotated her head so that she could keep a target lock on the intruder. Eventually the hawk gave up.

Fierce predators, this guy was very patient as he ate (see food in mouth) his 10-12 inch spot tailed bass. I shot for about an hour and he was their 1 hour later. I don't know when he finished dinner. Johns Island, SC
