Golden Pheasant
(Chrysolophus pictus)
Shy and surprisingly difficult to find in mixed and conifer woodland, where it runs quickly from detected disturbance. Red-and-gold male stunning and unmistakable. Female differs from Common Pheasant in strongly barred plumage, dull pinkish (not gray) legs and feet and from Lady Amherst’s Pheasant in lighter barring, more orangeish coloration, and the lack of a bare patch of gray skin behind the eye. Native to China but introduced very locally in Britain and Hawaii; however, captive birds might escape anywhere(eBird)

Bird ID : “Pied Bushchat”
Description:
A sedentary “chat” associated with open habitats in tropical and subtropical Asia. Males are black with a white vent and a white wing patch. Females are dark brown with a reddish-brown rump and underparts. Females can resemble the migratory Siberian Stonechat, but can be separated by the absence of an eyebrow and of any white on the collar or wing. Rather conspicuous; it may use and sing from any open perch unlike more discerning stonechats. Calls include a rising “whee” and hard, decisive “chruk.”(GOOGLE)

The Great Hornbill
Scientific name: Buceros bicornis
The largest hornbill species in India, Great Hornbills are also called Great Indian or Great Pied Hornbills.
The Great Hornbill, also known as the concave-casqued hornbill.
In India they are mainly found in the foothills of the Himalayas and parts of northeast India, along with the Western Ghats.
These striking birds measure 95 to 130cm in length and are identified by their black and white plumage and their large, curved beaks.
Great Hornbills nest within natural cavities of large, old trees, especially those that rise above the canopy.
Apart from deforestation and habitat fragmentation, their populations are also significantly impacted by hunting.
Myths about the medicinal value of their meat and an interest in their large casques makes them frequent targets.
