This Great Blue Heron was everywhere on the Fishing Pier, looking to catch some fish. He was not as lucky as the Otter, however, who had a lovely feast while on his backside in the water beside the Pier!

Note, I was standing very close to him on the fishing platform.

These huge swarms of birds were on Lake St. Luis across from our apartment building. I could not fully determine what kind of birds they were as they were too far out on the water. It's possible that they may have been ducks or some other migratory birds.

These gulls had no fear of anyone or anything. Just roaming for the fun of it, no worries.

These just took my eye at the Beamish Museum all neatly spaced out.

The Bees love the Borage flowers.

I could not believe it when I saw this small Steller's Jay sitting on the balcony railing opposite our apartment. He must have seen the hummingbird feeder and figured he should be fed too. I think he was probably just a juvenile and he looked a little the worse for wear, maybe hunting for food!

Most unusual looking flycatchers. The masked tityra (Tityra semifasciata)It has traditionally been placed in the cotinga or the tyrant flycatcher family, but evidence strongly suggests that it is better placed in Tityridae, where it is now placed by the South American Classification Committee.#birdsofinstagram#birdsofafeather#nuts_about_birds#your_best_birds#bird_brilliance#kings_birds_#bb_of_ig#natgeoindia @natgeo @naturesbestphotomagazine @natgeo @bbcearth#birdphotography#incrediblebirdingecuador#incrediblebirdingcolombia#incrediblebirdingspain#wildlifephotography#costarica#sanctuaryasia#natgeotravelerindia#indianbirds#wildlife_hd #khushboorahulphotography#best_birds_of_instagram#bird_perfection#thebest_capture#birds_adored #bbcearth#natureinfocus #kings_birds @planetbirds#capturedoncanon #best_birds_of_world #birdfreaks #incrediblebirding

Two seagulls flying high above tonights full Blue Moon. The true full moon is actually May 18, but this shot was taken on May 17th. I take them when I see them; I never know if the next night the moon will be visible.

This is the first time I've seen theis duck in our ocean water area. I used to see them in a local pond a couple of years ago. This is the male but a female was swimming behind him a little further away. They are small & compact in body, dive for their food in the water.

These sibling, Juvenile Eastern Bluebirds (Sialia sialis) could not have posed for me any better than this. This is one of those moments that makes all the patience and respect pay off. These two siblings spent most of the day staying in the shade and sharing food.

This Northern Flicker Bird loves to peck holes into wood, but here he is doing it to the Hydro Poles which of course damages them. That's definitely not a good thing. We need them to support our Hydro Wires.

Two Steller's Jays deciding on the peanuts we supplied to them on our balcony. The one on the left is a very young one. The mountain range of West Vancouver can be seen behind them.

The Great Blue Heron was out looking for fish but didn't seem to have any luck. The Cormorant kept diving under the sea water and came up with fish which he ate. It was a bit comical to watch. The Heron seemed very discouraged; I hope he got his supper eventually as he can fish even at night.

I was surprised to find THREE juvenile Swainson's Hawks within fifty feet - 15 metres of each other. All images were taken over a span of a few minutes. The first bird in the sequence is on its own. The second two are, I believe, siblings. They are becoming more wary but still allow a close approach.

Music and images together move me. This image is inspired by a duo The Civil Wars. Their exquisite melodies are able to pierce through your soul with harmonies and lyrics that weave stories of love, past loves, desires and reality. They are a true testament that music can revive, arouse and give hope. Image inspired by the songs, “Birds of a Feather” and “Girl With the Red Balloon.” I highly recommend you check out their new album Barton Hollow that just spent a week, rightly deserved, as Itunes #1 album. I promise, you won’t be disappointed. Would make a great Valentine gift too! I have listened to the album on replay for days now and never tire of it, in fact it deeply affected me today.

I also want to thank Jamie Heiden.

for inspiring this, I have always wanted to do a house on top of a grass hill.

This house was built in the 1800’s and is one of a kind. The owner has been painstakingly refurbishing it to original conditions. It is simply, gorgeous. It is in down town, Knoxville, TN.

I was able to catch this heron just as he decided to take off for some other area to do his fishing.

These seagulls seemed to have a private discussion while standing on a rock by the water in the park. There were hardly any birds out and even the crows were hardly around on this day, but the seagulls didn't mind the cold and rain!

I could hardly believe my eyes, there he was on a grassy area in a local garden. I was happy to see another type of bird here in Montreal that I always saw in BC. I had to keep my distance so he would not fly away, got a few shots. I believe he was a male bird.

This is a wreath kit that I purchased from Heidi from her Etsy shop www.etsy.com/shop/birdsofafeather.

These were swimming in our Ocean waters near our local park. We seem to be getting a lot more unusual ducks and birds here. I had quite a time identifying them & had never seen them before.

To my dear friend Jarmila and ex-neighbour in our days together in Lougheed, Burnaby, I wish you a VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY! xox Stay well, be Happy! With love & hugs for a great day. This wish comes from this lovely Anna's Hummingbird also, which I only ever saw in BC.

A little bird whispered to me and said, don't forget that July 28th is your birthday. Here's wishing you many more, good health, peace, joy and serenity! Sent with love and hugs, dear Elis, to you on your special day. xoxox

Those crazy crows are the worst for chasing after the local eagles here. Sometime the seagulls will do it also, but they don't get as close to them.

I could hear the Bald Eagles calling to each other and when I looked up I saw that they were sitting on the top of two different trees. For me it was two for the price of one!

She was the peacock among the doves, the first crimson tree of autumn.

He was hiding amongst the branches of a tall tree and enjoying the sunshine. It was difficult to get a really clear shot, however, as the sunlight was very strong and in my eyes. It was either a Rufus or an Anna's hummingbird which is hard to tell and he was all fluffed up.

You see them here, you see them there, those beautiful but elusive hummingbirds!

Saw this group of birds flying very high above me over the buildings and thought they were Eagles. No, the red beak here indicates that they were what are called Turkey Vultures.

I was not able to get a very clear shot, but wanted to show the red beak of these birds. At first I thought they were Eagles.

I don't know what is going on this year with the birds. Now it is the Canada geese who seem to go up on the roofs also. It must be the influence of the many full moons we are having this Spring.

These ducks don't seem to mind the cold oean water and can be seen almost daily in large groups. I believe these are the females of the Goldeneye ducks that visit our area each year in winter. I see them even from my balcony and windows, swimming in that cold water.

This photo is for my son Steve who I heard from today as he had news to tell me. He has to undergo a serious surgery this Tuesday 31 March, 2020, to correct a degenerative disease in his neck. If it is not done soon he will lose the use of his arms and he depends on those for his work! He is self employed.

I pray for him and hope all will go well as scheduled and that March will go out like a Lamb with good news for him and our family. He lives not far from the Las Vegas area and sadly due to our restrictions with the Coronavirus I cannot fly down to be with him.

This seems to be our local heron who often sits on the roof across the street from us. He sat up there for hours letting the wind go through his feathers; maybe to dry them out?

These two lovely birds had a lovely cushiony seat on the fluffy softness of this desert shrubbery as the little white blossoms became fluffy!

Our neighbours on the next balcony and ourselves are having some problems with pigeons trying to build a nest on our balconies. They have become a nuisance and yesterday I heard that one got into our neighbour's bedroom and left an unpleasant deposit on her bed! One tried to get into our patio door also. It's become a constant battle to keep them away and they seem to have no fear. Outside I do not mind them, but I do not want to deal with nests on our balcony.

Sept - Oct. 2017: Unfortunately the pigeons managed to build a nest at the back of our balcony where there is a wall and there are chicks in it and a lot of excrement which stinks. We now have to wait until these chicks are grown enough to be able to fly. That takes at least a month or more, then we have to clean up and try to find a way to discourage pigeons from building another nest.

The tiny Rufous Hummingbird was barely visible, sitting on top of the Hydro Wires. He had a great vantage point and seemed to be watching the many people walking below him. If you don't know where to look, then you would miss him. I know, however, that they like to sit on this particular area opposite one of the local gardens. Maybe that way when the coast is clear he can nip down quickly to sip on some Nectar now that spring has arrived.

All these birds continued for a day or two to be on the lake, but due to distance, not sure if they were ducks or some other variety but surely water fowl of some sort. Some really do look like ducks when photo is enlarged. So I have to assume that they are some kind of ducks maybe heading to somewhere warmer.

These ducks have been swimming here for a while and the male is very beautiuly coloured with the female not showing these red and bluish colours. Here they were swimming in the rough ocean water.

If ever there is a tomorrow when we're no longer together,

there is something you must always remember.

You are braver than you believe,

stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.

But the most important thing is,

even if we're apart.... I'll always be with you.

You thought I was...pfffft...vanquished but I have...pffffft.... returned!!! And this time...jeez.... I'm more pfffffft...powerful than before! You will...pfffft...pay for your...sonofabi...insolence. I would have pecked your...pffffft...eyeballs out already, but I...arghhhh...need to pfffft, gawd...explain my....grrrrrrrr...elaborate plan to your ...pffffft...feeble mind first. Now will someone...pfffft...hand me a $%#&*-damn hairband?!?

Bwah-hah-hah-pfffft-hah!
