DELIGHTFUL and often confiding little bird with a proportionately very long tail and seemingly an almost spherical body. The long-tailed Tit is often seen in rather animated flocks; it moves in a rather jerky fashion and has acrobatic feeding habits, which is so entertaining to watch, one of my favorite birds, captured through the kitchen window on a very wet day, hence the 1/30 shutter speed on a I.S.O of 1250.

Ya están por la zona centro de la península ibérica. Han pasado el invierno en sus territorios de invernada, en África, y han regresado para continuar con su tradicional forma de reproducción: Buscar nidos de otras aves, las más desprevenidas (generalmente urracas), poner allí sus huevos y esperar a que las aves parasitadas críen a sus pollos.
Su canto, en forma de estridentes "graznidos", ya denota su presencia, y el fotógrafo de naturaleza se prepara para buscar la foto que resalte su belleza.

Una curruca grande y vistosa, sobre todo los machos en plumaje nupcial que tienen el ojo muy claro, prácticamente blanco.
Como todas las currucas frecuentan las zarzas en busca de moras maduras para alimentarse.
En España la observamos, sobre todo, en la époco del paso post-nupcial.

Ver maniobrar a estas diminutas aves, moviendo sus alas a velocidad indescriptible, para colocarse en el lugar adecuado en que pueda introducir su pico en la corola de las flores y obtener de esta forma el nectar, es verdaderamente un placer.

Todas las curruca, son preciosas. Pero ésta, la curruca carrasqueña, a mi entender, está a la cabeza de todas; sus tonos salmón en el pecho, los grises de su dorso, el anillo ocular rojo y el pequeño bigote blanco, en este caso del macho, le otorgan un plus.
Una de las aves que más deseaba fotografiar en Kenia, la carraca lila, emparentada con la carraca que cría en España, pero , como su nombre indica con un color lila dominante en su cuerpo.
