Like humans, tigers have binocular vision. This enables them to be able to use their sense of depth perception to judge distances, giving their pouncing and jumping actions a distinct accuracy. If they were not able to judge distances as well as they can, they could injure or lose their prey, rather than catching and killing it swiftly. The eyes of the tiger are situated on the front of its head, and not to the sides. This helps with three-dimensional perception and depth perception, since both eyes look ahead.
Tigers hunt mainly during the evening and night times, when the vision of their prey is compromised. For this reason, their night time vision is excellent; about six times better than that of humans. There are several adaptations within the actual eye that allow for this:
1.It has a wide, rounded pupil that allows maximum light to enter into the eye, when necessary.
2.The anterior chamber and lens of the eye are also larger for the same reason.
3.The tigers retinas comprise mainly rod receptors, which are cells that are sensitive to low light levels and can perceive very slight movements. There are some cone cells (colour receptors) in each eye, but these are used more for day vision, and not to perceive a range of different colours. In fact, it is thought that some tigers likely only see dull greens, blues and reds, while others see in black and white.
The Blue Heron's eyesight is about three times more detailed than ours, and its binocular vision gives it superb depth perception. It also has a built in “zoom lens” – allowing the bird to switch instantaneously between telescopic and macro vision.
i dismantled a pair of binoculars and these are all the lenses i found. i was going to use them to make a mobile but realized i might burn down the house. SO instead they have become beloved tools that i pull from my bag of tricks. when needed.
here is a group shot.

A binocular like view through a brick lattice outside my kitchen of the nearby vineyard and neighboring town.
An Otter "Mercator" knife on a zoom binocular.
The "Mercator" knives were originally produced since 1867 as allround pocket knives by a company named Heinrich Kaufmann & Söhne, Indiawerk in the town of Solingen. The knife name "Mercator" is the Latin version of the German word "Kaufmann" (family name of the company founder) and was chosen for marketing reasons. The simple and rugged design is therefore well over 150 years old, with a folded steel handle and a 9 cm long lockback blade.
Due to its ruggedness and affordability the knife became rather popular with German troops in WW I and WW II, but it was never officially issued.
After WW II the knife also gained some popularity and abundance in the US because returning soldiers brought them home as war souvenirs. This in turn led there to the wrong belief those knives were official army issue.
Since 1995 the knives are produced by Otter-Messer, also in Solingen, a knife maker with a history dating back to 1840. The town of Solingen itself, recognizable by its nickname Klingenstadt (Blade City), has been the heart of the European blades and cutlery industry since the Middle Ages. Around 90 percent of the entire German knife, scissors and cutlery industry is based in Solingen.

Besides, we use lenses of various focal lengths to purposely exaggerate actual seeing, and we often “overcorrect” color for the same reason. In printing we carry on our willful distortion of fact by using contrasty papers which give results quite different from the sense or object as it was in nature :-)

Really trying, I want to change the view I see the world now but no, I can't. Very disappointed with this year... I need a refund of this 2020 year!

Morphological characteristics:
The eyes are slightly turned forward and downward, which gives them a wide binocular vision without misaligning the head. When diving, the nictitating membranes cover the eyes. The conical beak is long and strong, pointed and without hook. It has no external nostrils. As in all seabirds, there are salt glands to evacuate excess salt in the body, here through the beak. Their legs are totipalmate, that is to say that the webbing includes the 4 fingers. They are often brightly colored.
They can dive from a great height (up to 40m) and penetrate the marine environment in depth (on average 10-15 m, max. measured 35). The average immersion time is 5 to 10 seconds. At the moment of impact with the water, the wings are completely folded and stretched backwards in line with the body to facilitate penetration by minimizing the shock.
Morphological adaptation, air sacs arranged to protect the head and chest also absorb the shock with the water and then facilitate the ascent to the surface.

Sweet little meerkat keeping watch for its fellow furry kin.
Seen at Marwell wildlife sanctuary, Hampshire, UK.
Meerkats are small, diurnal mongooses. Their large, more forward-facing eyes give them better binocular vision, making them good at judging distances.
It was a very cold winter's morning and I'm sure this little character was also enjoying the warming rays of the sun.

For those with binocular vision, two handheld shots arranged for "Cross-eye" viewing (small size might be best)'
Instructions;
with the image open on the screen bring your finger up in line with the image and your eyes.
Focus on your finger while moving your finger closer to your eyes, all the while being aware of the image in the background view.
You will notice that as your finger approaches closer to your eyes, the two images in the background will appear to move inwards towards each other and then overlap, at this point lower your finger out of view and allow your focus to remain on the overlapping (3D) images.
With practice this becomes quite easy.
For those of us who want to be sure that we only see what we want to. Four LED spotlights, two tomatoes, and my grandfather's binoculars. JPEG processed in Fuji's raw converter and in Luminar.
I have been thinking about binocular vision and photography (which, these days, usually has one single lens attached to the camera). What we do when trying to mimic stereoscopic vision is to get our 'object' into sharp focus and everything else out of focus. This works best when using a very fast lens wide-open (here Mitakon Speedmaster 0.95/35) and close-up. A long (telephoto) lens does also work well wide-open and as close as possible to the object. The object itself could be anything, even a flying pig.

Comet 2022 E3 (ZTF) at top, as the green fuzzy star above the semi-circle of stars marking the constellation of Corona Borealis, the Northern Crown. The comet was approaching the Sun and Earth at this time (January 3, 2023) and was brightening, but even here was visible in binoculars and sporting a short dust tail and cyan-colored coma. ZTF = Zwicky Transient Facility, the telescope used to discover the comet in early 2022.
The bright star at bottom is Alphecca, or Alpha Coronae Borealis.
The field of view is 15° by 10°, so larger than a binocular field.
This is a stack of 8 x 1-minute exposures with the Canon EF 135mm lens at f/2.8 on the Canon Ra at ISO 1600, all on the Star Adventurer 2I tracker. Wikipedia:
