Bindi enjoyed a trip out to the grounds of Calke Abbey today.
It was fun to be taking her out and about again ((^_^))
The weather has been so dreary and damp today and the light so flat that the sky looked white!
But I still couldn't resist taking a few photos of Bindi at Staunton Harold. ((^_^))

Shan ain't Single anymore, sorry guys. I know i broke your hearts, i can see broken hearts floating on the marina sea shore as i drove home today. But hey, that does not mean its all that bad. I was shooting exclusively for her wedding engagement today and of course yesterday for the Henna Ceremony at her house.

The Bindi or the "pottu" as it is called in tamil is a critical decorative element of the indian woman. I decided to get a close up of the bindi shan had while the women drew arabic designs on her hand with henna (marudhaani).

Attempted this week's challenge but couldn't get quite what I wanted. Instead, you guys get a photo of Bindi circa 1910 ;)
Using carpet tiles as the floor instead of the backdrop extension.
Also this photo was taken in the Conservatory where the light is always a little 'blue' because of the tinted roof.

A superb new discovery for me to add to the more than fifty varieties of Limacodid caterpillars I have found within a bike ride of my home.
As usual, in the absense of an ID and to make management easier, I have allocated a nickname. At first I thought the red thoracic dot was a passenger mite (not an unusual finding). Once I found the third and fourth caterpillar with the identical marking, it was apparent that they bore a bindi spot by design.
A bindi (Hindi: बिंदी, from Sanskrit bindu, meaning "point or dot") is an auspicious mark worn in South Asia (particularly India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Mauritius) and Southeast Asia among Bali and Javanese Hindus.
The origin of the bindi can be found in ancient times but has lost this significance in modern life and is worn all over the world as an accessory. However, there are different colours worn for different occasions and stages in life.
Hence, I dub thee, Bindi.
