Cast removed yesterday, get to see what was hiding under there since I broke both sides of the ankle 6 weeks ago. Even after all that time, there's still some bruising ... and a lot of work ahead to gain some flexibility and strength back.

Actually, it's a bimalleolar equivalent fracture. I used to have a gorgeous arch on that now beastly foot.
Today I felt pretty rough and as I had been "Nil by Mouth" since I was transferred from A&E to the ward I thought this photo would be quite apt for the day, as the operation eventually took place about 6pm.
Unfortunately they told me the break was worse than they first thought from the original x-rays and the pins on one side had to be placed at quite an angle to secure the joint. I also found out the exact nature of the damage I managed to do to myself..........I have a Bimalleolar Fracture of the ankle, which means that I am unable to put weight on it for a minimum of 6 weeks and have to spend most of my day sat down with my leg up.....oh the joy of it all, especially as the weather is starting to get nicer again!
[Sorry for the mass upload while I catch up with my 365 postings, all though may be in vein (more to follow) as I am not sure I will be able to continue with this one due to circumstances out of my control]
