This sign immediately caught my eye. It’s located on Hwy. 120 near where Lower Roswell Road merges with it. Very pretty, bright and dazzling. It should get a lot of attention.

Across from Williamson Brother’s BBQ, this is a gigantic advertising vehicle. The art is printed on a material that is then stretched across a framework. No more painting or pasting sheets in this contemporary era.

Falls City Beer, established in 1905, was a regional alternative to the former tied-house franchise systems that dominated American drinking establishments. Local bars were an extension of the brewery brand. Breweries were typically both the landlord owner of the tavern's building so it leased the premise to the operator (similar to many modern McDonald's franchised restaurants) and the brewery was also owner of product inventory in the bar (similar to modern 7-Eleven franchises), causing the tavern operator to be especially at a brewer's mercy. Such strong control of the local drinking establishment by a regional or national brewery became outlawed in the United States, although such practices continued in the United Kingdom.

Ok, so picture this. i'm driving on the road and there's a bright red billboard right next to the traffic light. As i'm moving closer to the traffic light i pause to read the writings on the board. i am disgusted. This is what we pass everyday on our way to my sister's work. I find that this always makes me want to throw up. i wonder why.

77 years of change looking south at Granville & West 4th Avenue.
When the present day Granville Street Bridge was built, it was located adjacent on the west side of the second Granville Street Bridge (1909-1954). Streetcar tracks can be seen on the bridge in the older images. Strict signage by-laws have eliminated many of the billboards & storefront signs often seen in past photos.
