Built in 1938 as a Marathon Gas Station, this delightful structure is now the home of the Springfield Bicycle Doctor. In the years between being a gas station and bicycle shop, the building has been occupied as a laundry and dry cleaners, real estate office and, more recently, a barber shop. The current owners, Robert and Cynde LaBonte, purchased the property in early 2012, and have since remodeled the original building for their bicycle sales and repair shop, and have added a small storage building.
In and Around Brick Lane, London
This collection of images was taken in and around Brick Lane, Hanbury Street, Buxton Street London E1. This is an area full of new and old architecture, markets, people, colour, graffiti, doors and much much more. I went with members of our camera club, had a brilliant time, the camera never stopped clicking away. Thanks to all for the good company. This is the second of many postings.…..

But too much perverts. He didn't answer back, which was a good thing.
I'm in a narrow red-lit room with walls filled with various bike fork parts. My reflection is looking back at me from a mirror on the other end. This is part of a huge bike shop.
When I stepped out and saw the small placard, I was so glad to find out they just moved and not gone out of business.
Had to get the bike back from the menders this morning - decided to give Greylake and hour or so and as such didn't even get to the bikeshop.
The bright sunshine of the morning had passed - it was still bright enough for some shots however I've had to lift the light in this on the computer.
Shovelers are a beautifully marked duck and I really liked how this crop were all showing off their flight feathers.
Again settings are bit out on this - had no need to be at such a high ISO however moments before I'd been trying some shots at ground/water level and so the light was far lower.
Again really does benefit from being Large (still a bit dark small).

Step into a vintage bike shop and you’ll instantly feel the charm of another era. The scent of metal, oil, and aged leather fills the air, and the walls are lined with classic frames, polished gears, and faded posters of old cycling races. Many of these shops have been around for decades, passed down from one generation of passionate cyclists to the next. The people who work there aren’t just mechanics, they’re storytellers, craftsmen, and enthusiasts who know every bike like an old friend.
This photo goes to the source, so to speak. Bicycle parts are integrated into all sorts of sculptures and artwork seen in the Paradise Garden, but here the parts--wheels, tires, and chains mostly--are merely stored. For a while Howard Finster made a living as a bicycle repairman, and also used parts to assemble bikes for kids whose families could not afford the buy one, the NY Times says in its 2001 obit. It appears that after Finster had switched from bicycles to art, he had organized bicycle parts for smarter access and less rummaging around--hand grips and brake levers are found elsewhere. The back wall consists of auto hubcaps held in place with mortar. The other side of the wall that faces the street is part of a mosaic with countless objects held fast by mortar.
