Wood drake caught in that late day sunlight. Taken at Wildwood lake in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.

Thanks for taking the time to view!

A serious birder with his "Big Gun"! Dressed in camo, his 600mm F4 lens with a camo coat and even his tripod had a camo coat! This is my dream lens and camera!

Naples is also about lucky shots and capturing my first bird... Shot with the native iPhone camera and then processed with camera+, biglens, and snapseed. So much going on here! The light was perfect, I saw the men with the hat and I waited for him, everything happened exactly when I framed him: the bird flew, the two couple started running in the background, the bells chimed and he walked away without noticing that the world had stopped for a millisecond just for him! Have great day.

or photographing the photographer! I can't remember what the red flower was that got in my way, lol. : )

Change of landscape (and weather): in the western part of the Emmental runs the line from Burgdorf to Thun via Konolfingen. Opened in 1899, it was the first electrified "true" railway (as opposed to tramways) in Europe. It was operated by the aptly named Burgdorf-Thun-Bahn (BTB), which merged in 1942 with the Emmentalbahn to form the Emmental-Burgdorf-Thun-Bahn (EBT), which in turn merged with other companies in 1997 to form Regionalverkehr Mittelland (RM). Finally, in 2006 the BLS acquired RM - and therefore the ownership of this line. Until recently, the quite charming RBDe 566 I class EMUs operated on this line, but they have been replaced by the newer RBDe 566 II class units. EMU no. 566 234 is covering RE 4417 Solothurn - Thun, passing Biglen, 07-04-2015.
