For the things that we think that we want. It might not be true. We have hopes that ride the winds into the clouds. That might not be true either.
Accept what comes your way and smile large. Deception may be the key to happiness.

What ?? The Rodeo is canceled ?
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
March 11, 2020: for the first time in its history, the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo was shut down weeks early. All events have been canceled through the end of March due to COVID 19 coronavirus concerns.

A candid moment for a cowgirl at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. 634 scholarships of $20,000 are awarded each year.
Aside from world class entertainers and rodeo every evening, the Show also includes a wine competition and even a school art competition (In 2019, the Grand champion painting was auctioned for a record $240,000)..

b&w version in comments, which one do you prefer?
New York, the city of my dreams.
Crowded streets, city lights, tall buildings, walls full of art, people running around late for work, coffee shops full of lovers of good literature, taxi men full of stories to talk with passengers, inspiration .
Those are some of the few things that come to my mind when i think about New York City.
Cliche? Not at all .
Please read my whole story at my blog .
ps. the self portrait is my picture and the overlay picture of New York is not mine, i found it and wanted to create something just for doing art. So credits for the NY picture goes to whoever took it.
in case you want to ask something formspring
This is one if my favorite pics of mine of all times, maybe is because of the story behind it .
I'LL DEFINITELY LIVE IN NEW YORK, THATS MY BIG DREAM.
WHATS YOURS?
The Nikon Z8 is officially released, and I hear the first batch has already sold out. I recently had the opportunity to play with this beauty. Had it in my hands. Up to my eye in that viewfinder. Very impressive but I passed on the preorder. I own the Z6ii and Z7ii and just couldn’t justify a $4000 financial hit. But hey, I have this tshirt as a memory of something wonderful, that’s just out of reach.
Cause every night I lie in bed
the brightest colours fill my head
A million dreams are keeping me awake

“Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world.”

... except the birds. Proof that little houses can have big dreams, right?
Well, my friends, my break from work ends tonight. I have had a wonderful couple days off with much time to enjoy being artful. I'll check back in, as often as time allows, to see your pretties. xo
Blog post #3 the climb...
Not many know my rl story and that's fine, not many know the personal demons and battles I've faced and been through but I will keep on pushing and fighting to be the best version of myself I can be from helping and healing my inner child to allowing my own personal growth even when scared, that I'm going to fail and let everyone and myself down....

This little Kermit I found in Landgraaf. Hidden among the grass.
Kermit the Frog Quote:
"When you decide what your Big Dream is, you’ll be bursting with enthusiasm and want to share it with everybody. Most everybody will give you one of those ‘OK, that’s nice, now please pass the ketchup’ looks. Some will scoff, suggesting that whatever your Big Dream is, it’s too big for you. And a select few will whisper words of encouragement. My advice is this: Pass the ketchup. Ignore the scoffers. And remember those words of encouragement ‘cause they’re the only ones that matter."
So little one ... dream big!
Marsh Frog.

Cantwell, Alaska.
About 50 miles south of Denali National Park stands one of the weirdest sights I saw while driving across Alaska.
"Intended to one day serve as a hotel, Igloo City was never completed. It was constructed sometime in the 1970s, but could not meet the building codes of the time. While it might be easier to meet some of those codes today, too much of the hotel has deteriorated over the years to make renovation worthwhile. Not for lack of trying, though. Ever since its construction the building has gone through many owners, none of whom could get it up to par.
It is so large that the four-story concrete structure can be seen by airplanes at 30,000 feet. But the interior was never finished.
It’s primary significance today is that it mark the halfway point between Fairbanks and Anchorage, Alaska’s two largest cities."
-The Croatian Slogan in World Cup 2018
When Croatian manager Zlatko Dalic was sat in his press conference after seeing his team beaten by France in the World Cup final, he was asked by a journalist from Georgia what message he has for other smaller countries who might hope to follow in Croatia’s footsteps all the way to the final of another World Cup somewhere else down the line.
“On our bus is the slogan, ‘Little country, big dreams’, it’s a good message to all,” Dalic said. “In football, or in life in general. Never give up.”

'The Big dream is hunting you', quote by Robert Moss. A mixed-media painting made with beaded wallpaper, origami paper, black paper, acrylic paint, and pastels on gesso board.
This is from last year. She still texts while sipping.
Cleared out my laptop tonight. Delete. Hope I did not lose anything important. Then I cleared out all my old messages from flickr. Delete. So weird. 9 years of messages just gone.
I know I lost something of value somewhere in my night tonight.
Sip and delete:)

There's something about being near the ocean that seems to put things in perspective. It's so vast, and the enormity of it makes us think of our lives, our plans, hopes, dreams, relationships and desires.
Looking at Alaric taking his shots while on the beach at Vero Beach, FL, I was reminded of how not long ago in the grand scheme of things, I had stood on beaches like this and dreamt of the future, hoping for all the same kind of things my nephew does now. Life can be unkind, but it can be kind as well, and sometimes it takes a lifetime to be able to distinguish the difference between the two. What we think we want isn't always what is going to be best for us, and even if it could be, some dreams are just too big and life's obstacles and sense of humor at thwarting us can dash those dreams like waves on the sand.
I have confidence in Alaric's dreams, though. He is good at what he does and is training for a backup career just in case. He's smart as well as gifted. He is one of the wisest young people I've ever known. For some time now, he has actually prayed for wisdom, something few teenagers ever even think of doing!
As the years go by and life takes us away from each other, I will remember this one day we shared, driving for hours only to get to our destination late, eating great pie at Village Inn on "Free Pie Day", (the reason we were later than we'd hoped!) and me learning to adjust the light in my camera well enough to capture this shot, which I will always treasure!
My list is actually slightly more extensive than this, but I think a bucket list can cover both daily goals and BIG goals:
1) Earn an income from my photography;
2) Get published - a book, not just magazine articles or guest blogging;
3) Take my daughter to Paris (her dream since reading the Madeline books);
4) Travel somewhere completely new just for the sake of photography;
5) Make more quiet time in the day for creativity and thought;
6) Improve my Italian and German language skills;
7) Visit New York City - a long held dream of mine:
8) Own our own house - nomadic life has its perks, but it'd be nice to put down roots somewhere, some day;
9) Keep learning - this may not sound like a bucket list item on the surface, but it's an ongoing, daily goal of mine as I see too many people who, once they've completed their academic or career related studies, just stop being open to learning about the world around them.

OLD BRIDGE, NJ - MARCH 04: Donna Simpson (42) poses for a photograph at her home on March 04, 2010 in Old Bridge, New Jersey. Super-sized Donna Simpson loves nothing more than showing off her body in front of the cameras. But what makes Donna different from other online pin up girls, Donna is a 43-stone mother of two. Donna, who wears XXXXXXXL clothing is thought to be the world's fattest woman. She is already in the Guinness Book of Records as the biggest woman in the world to give birth. Donna's goal is to reach 72 stone but she thinks this may not be practical PHOTOGRAPH BY JAMES AMBLER / BARCROFT USA UK Office, London.
