Early spring is even worse than November. We wade ankle-deep through mud, the landscape looks like a carcass...nevertheless - the light is different, the birds are clearing their throats and if you listen closely, the buds on the trees flex their muscle (no, you cannot hear a muscle flex but hey - this is literature :-))
