This is Kanga at the Philadelphia Zoo. She originally came from Guatemala and lived at the Stone Zoo in MA (where I volunteer) until October 2010. She was transferred to the Philadelphia Zoo based on SSP breeding recommendations and has a 7 month old cub, Lucha. I love to see her when I'm visiting in the area.
Only these three cheetahs can save the world from impending disaster! Will they make it?
(Their pose reminded me of all certain action movie scenes)
(I may replace the photo with a better verison if I figure out how to improve the PP ... or add in explosions and fireballs in the background)
These two lions at the Pittsburgh Zoo were very focused on the giraffes running back and forth in the exhibit close to theirs. Notice that one of them moved a little closer in photo 2. The giraffes certainly provided good enrichment for the boys.
This, to me just calls out for a caption. What will happen when that cub bites his Mum's tail? The other cubs are watching to see.
This is Pat, one of the jaguars at the Milwaukee County zoo. He came from Belize. He couldn't be released back in to the wild but found a home and a mate (Stella) at the Milwaukee County zoo. You can read all about Pat's story, jaguars and their habitats in a book written by the children of Belize and Milwaukee: "Pat the Great Cat: A Jaguar's Journey" published by SHARP Literacy, Inc.
