I know I had said no more spoonbills for awhile but could not resist posting this one. I hope it gives you a big Monday smile !!!

With a respectable 101 cars and 10k tons in tow, F16 glides into Milo along the Sebec River, with a pair of GP38-2s, a SD40-2 and GP20ECO doing the honors. Lately the ST haulage traffic has been building over the weekends as we don't run it south until Monday night, so the southbound F16 tends to be pretty big Monday and Tuesday, often not leaving south until well into the day, such as this day.

Taken from Warriewood Headland the day after an east coast low caused a huge amount of damage along the Sydney coastline.

Have a look at the wave breaking on the horizon, some big swells up the channel on this day

Economy special....

I've only just realised i've subconciously been running a mini-series of titles related to the economic crisis, check out the others... 'Wipeout' and 'Bailout'

First photos of 2014 and it's a great big Monday Morning Blues Panorama / Vertorama from Freshwater Bay on the Isle of Wight.

I don't know how much I'll be able to be on Flickr except to post some photos because my hip surgery is taking place on Feb. 9th and I have a lot of things to do. I'll stop in whenever possible but I know that I will miss a lot of photos. Right now I want to spend time getting things ready, spend time with my family, and my dogs. I hope you all understand. Hopefully I'll have a chance to let everyone know how I'm doing after I get home from the hospital. I'll do that as soon as possible. Obviously it will be awhile before I can come back to Flickr in full force. I wish you all a very nice week and want to thank you all for being such great friends here on Flickr. Lots of love and hugs!

Monday night ride well over a thousand this week, and well on its way to being the largest weekly ride in the world. We Kahn do it!

What Kassie sees just about every morning. This is me, while she is dutifully getting ready for work, procrastinating by playing on the internet. This is almost always followed by her prodding me to get moving by pseodo-singing "~Internet Party~!" as she comes out of her bathroom and sees me still sitting there.

Quick aside - that's Matt Lauer of The Today Show talking about what is pretty much the lead story in the US today... the deplorable performance by the "replacement" referees in the big Monday Night (American) Football game from last evening that not only was an embarrassment to the whole league but also resulted in (oops) the wrong team winning! The replacement ref's are there because of a labor dispute and this will probably will be the straw that breaks the camels back.

Hey Jayhawks, remember that time you stood through a triple overtime game?

The battle of the Titans took place Jan. 4 at Allen Fieldhouse. The Jayhawks, ranked No. 1 by the AP, faced Oklahoma, ranked No. 1 in the USA Today/coaches poll. The outcome? KU outlasted OU, 109-106.

A calm evening after the big Monday windstorm. The venerable old tug Rosario is hauling more soil from the winter olympics site in False Creek and there's a movie shoot going on across the way.
