Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?

Autumn is slowly getting the best of this Sycamore leaf that is trying to hang on and not be taken over...a perfect example of the beauty of nature where there is a season for everything, to live and to die, to work and to rest, and to stay and to leave...just as God designed it all!!
"For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted; a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;"

… for you are all one in Christ Jesus.' –Letter from Apostle Paul to the Galatians [New Testament, Galatians 3:28]
Ouch! That is a tall order.
A house divided within itself can not stand. The wise and the foolish builders.
“Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock.
But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall.”
Matthew 7:24-27

* I promise I'll visit your streams once the craziness tides over.... :-) It's an insane week!
Now after the Sabbath, toward the dawn of the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to see the tomb. And behold, there was a great earthquake, for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven and came and rolled back the stone and sat on it.His appearance was like lightning, and his clothing white as snow. And for fear of him the guards trembled and became like dead men. But the angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. He is not here, for he has risen, as he said. Come, see the place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell his disciples that he has risen from the dead, and behold, he is going before you to Galilee; there you will see him. See, I have told you.” So they departed quickly from the tomb with fear and great joy, and ran to tell his disciples. And behold, Jesus met them and said, “Greetings!” And they came up and took hold of his feet and worshiped him. Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid; go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee, and there they will see me.”

Easter is not about a bunny...it's about The Lamb!
While I do not believe that Easter has anything to do with a bunny, I do believe that God sometimes sends me little reminders about life and His bigger story that we are all a part of...
What do I mean by all this...well, here it is...when I first saw this Eastern Cottontail run out from underneath our deck and I ran to get my camera, the plan was to post a bunny photo on Easter (if I got a good one). And, as you can see, I think I got a pretty good photo...BUT...that plan was not fully thought through on my part! Since this happened a few days before Easter, I've had the first sentence of this post banging around in my head and I know it is from God. The second thought that I've had banging around is that while this cottontail is not what Easter is about...it is one of God's creations and is special in its own way as stated in Genesis 1:24 - "
And God said, “Let the land produce living creatures according to their kinds: the livestock, the creatures that move along the ground, and the wild animals, each according to its kind.” And it was so."
Sometimes, God just has to use any and everything to remind me just how much he really is in control..."For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." ~Jeremiah 29:11

So teach us to number our days that we may gain a heart of wisdom. A fitting thought to start our new year. Happy New Year to you!
There are many 'options' regarding the meaning of turtle doves...here are a few that I found online:
Turtle doves symbolize love and faithfulness because they mate for life, work together to build nests and raise their young together. They are immortalized in literary and poetic works, such as the Old Testament, and artists like Shakespeare, Edmund Spenser and Buddy Holly.
The Bible depicts doves as loyal, honest and loving. In Leviticus 12:8, two turtle doves replaced a lamb sacrifice. Mary and Joseph sacrificed two turtle doves in Jerusalem at Christ’s birth. Turtle doves are still associated with the Christmas tradition as seen on the Christmas tree ornament photographed above.
In Egyptian, Roman and Chinese societies, doves symbolized innocence, long life, peace, devotion and love, and caring for one’s family. Turtle doves spend winters in Africa and breed in Europe, Asia and the Middle East.

Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.

If God placed the moon and stars in their places, and these are not created in His likeness, how much more does He care for you and I and the ups and downs of our lives. This is the essence of Psalm 8:3-4. God always has a plan for your life but you must be living for Him and seeking His will always!!

Mark chapter 16 verses 1 thru 7...The Story of Easter!
When the Sabbath was over, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices so that they might go to anoint Jesus’ body. Very early on the first day of the week, just after sunrise, they were on their way to the tomb and they asked each other, “Who will roll the stone away from the entrance of the tomb?” But when they looked up, they saw that the stone, which was very large, had been rolled away. As they entered the tomb, they saw a young man dressed in a white robe sitting on the right side, and they were alarmed. “Don’t be alarmed,” he said. “You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified. He has risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid him. But go, tell his disciples and Peter, ‘He is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him, just as he told you.’”
Happy Easter friends!!

"Our Father which art in heaven,
Hallowed be thy name,
Thy kingdom come,
Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts,
as we forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil:
For thine is the kingdom,
and the power, and the glory,
for ever." -- Amen.
