I think this is an unusual scene in the SCTEX. A farmer with his carabao. This was a dirt road before, a way to the farm; but the construction of this highway, resulted to a longer way towards the farm of this farmer.
The farmers still use this road somehow, which at this time is already open for public use.

Yes …. This 1978 12 Inch 33 1/3 Album/Record/Vinyl , that looks like an old style car tire (BFGoodrich Radial T/A 195/70/13), with someone’s favorite tunes on it. Just had to buy it, being a car/Vinyl records kind of guy! HMM!

Sue Hite's Dress Shop on Pine Street's float. The S&S Supply store still was open within the last 10 years or so. Notice all the people in the windows. This is back when REAL floats were made for a parade. Not like now when they slap a sign on the side of the pickup or tractor and call it a float. Diane again is the first little girl in the front. I LOVE the clothes they are wearing. I can't imagine how hot the little girls in the coats must be, as this is September in TXK-still pretty darn hot that time of year.
This is a very old postcard I have from the mid 1900's showing what the BF goodrich complex looked like from the air.
buildings 40 and 41 are at the far right hand side of the complex, and these are the ones that most of my photos are from..You can see that the back building used to be connected to the other buildings.....the big chunk of buildings to the left are all gone now with exception of the little spaghetti warehouse which would have been in the middle of that cluster.
The area on the far left of the complex is what is now called canal place..
