The on-going refugee crisis in Europe hits home for me.... I was a refugee myself to the US some 40 years ago.... my heart is breaking for these people...

When we lived right at the closest crossing point between Europe and Africa, literally 14 km between the two continents, there was often activity in the night with migrants from Morocco seeking a new life in Europe. Often we would come across small boats, some tossed about in storms along the Strait of Gibraltar, their passengers gone. Who knows what happened in such scenarios. It was the case though that I often came across small groups or individuals hiding in the forest or scrub close to the coast.
These small boats were quickly smashed by the force of the Atlantic Ocean where it meets the ebbing waters of the Mediterranean.
This beach is called Playa de la Hierbabuena at Barbate, Cadiz province Spain and has many stories to tell.

Are we saying that it is all right for boys to rape when they are young because they don't know any better? Don't we teach them from the very beginning to respect everyone regardless of gender, race or belief.
Are we making it that our girls grow up in fear, because boys can do no wrong? Don't we want to protect our girls, give them equal education, opportunities and let them respect boys?
Don't we want to teach our children that no-one is more important than anyone else and that we should treat everyone equally with respect. Don't we teach them to live and let live, not to hate but to love and work together for a better life?

Today I am uploading 2 works on children, I am shocked to know the statistics of unwanted children. It is very easy to create a child but not so easy to bring them up and nurture them.
I almost feel that we don’t understand the full responsibility of having children and go into relationships without thinking things through. People should not have children unless they are prepared to work and sacrifice for them. The sex is fun, but the baby that comes afterwards is not always as thrilling as the sex was. Couples have to be prepared to change their lives from “me” to “us”. Children deserve a chance at a good life, they deserve to belong to the family, have food on the table, healthcare, education and the ability to earn a decent living and go out on their own in confidence. There is no real reason why this should not be possible, we as a society, can make changes when we want to, and surely all the children of the world are our future and we owe it to them to give them the possibility of making life better for future generations.

Shanghai (Chinese: 上海) is one of the four municipalities under the direct administration of the central government of the People's Republic of China, the largest city in China by population, and the second most populous city proper in the world, with a population of 24.18 million as of 2017. It is a global financial centre and transport hub, with the world's busiest container port. Located in the Yangtze River Delta, it sits on the south edge of the estuary of the Yangtze in the middle portion of the East China coast. As a major administrative, shipping and trading city, Shanghai grew in importance in the 19th century due to trade and recognition of its favourable port location and economic potential. The subsequent 1842 Treaty of Nanking and 1844 Treaty of Whampoa allowed the establishment of the Shanghai International Settlement and the French Concession. Well dear Flickr friends I have something difficult to say.
My breast cancer from 2 years ago has gone to my brain. 20 small nodules we are fighting with radiation....
Thankfully I have been able have time to say goodbye.
Chemo doesn't reach the brain well. I had the most aggressive least treatable breast cancer. It is called triple negative.
I am at peace. The Lord is my shepherd.
God lives! The Holy Spirit guides.
My life in heaven awaits me...
I look forward to seeing you all again on the other side.
Now that I'm adjusted to my new life,hope that I'll be able to go out for clicking this weekend :)

Have you ever had to put your trust in something blindly? The fact that you don’t know what could happen - you don’t know the dangers, the problems and yet if you slip up and fall you suddenly find yourself on your own.
I’ve had this happen many times in my life and one where I found myself alone for a long period of my life - but now having found new stable ground it’s amazing to see how I managed to overcome being blind to many things
This image is not only the largest I’ve edited but also been the most creatively challenging! and I’m in love with shooting so many people for such great images! I’d love to know what you think! ☺️

Something a little different in style to post today .Tuk Tuk driver by day . Goes to school in the evening , studies and sleeps at his night job . He would study 3-4 hours by the dim light of the street lamp . I really don't know how he could see , but he would read and study night after night after night . He dreams of a better life for his son and himself , he studies to make that a reality .
This trunk was used by my wife‘s grandparents when they travelled from Java in the Dutch East Indies to Suriname in the early years of the 20 th century.
They searched for a better life.
Shefali 9, moved to Dhaka from Chandpur after her father left them. There was no job in the village. A friend of her mother promised them some work in a ready made garments factory. Depending on her words both migrated to Dhaka with a dream of a better future. Seeing the sea of people from the window, she was shocked. They had no idea how crowded the city is.
Everyday hundreds of people like them move to Dhaka with a dream that never gets real for most.
The Saudi Arabia Pavilion features a fine centerpiece: a huge hanging boat shaped like a half moon. The "moon boat" is loaded with dreams and friendship. Date palms have been planted on the top deck of the boat, creating a hanging garden, and thus epitomizing the oases in the desert. Visitors will receive a warm welcome in both modern as well as traditional Bedouin tents set among date palm trees.

During my time visit Cambodia there was huge protesting demonstration from Cambodian Workers against government. This is one of the view outside garment factory when I passing through...Honestly I didn't scared about this activities, as I lived in Downtown Jakarta, Indonesia which almost everyday we also facing many kind of demonstrations...and this scale of protesting ( Cambodian ) was totally nothing compare with our Indonesia demonstration...Anyway, Happy Labor Day ! ^__^
