Sharing the secret to long life: “Kindness. Treat people right and be nice to other people the way you want them to be nice to you.”
Last week, I read the above "secret to long life" as quoted to TIME by Gertrude Weaver of Arkansas, who celebrated her 116th birthday on July 4 2014 and is the new oldest-living American. Here is the link where one can learn more words of wisdom from this remarkable centenarian:

...I'm a little disappointed, and can't understand, why the colors coming out a little greenish on Flickr and different from the original colors in my photo file:-(
WEEK 20 Technical: Sky Overlay
Sometimes the sky just doesn't cooperate. This week replace the sky in your image. #dogwood52 #dogwood2017 #dogwoodweek20 #skyoverlay
I really like this beautiful message and added it to one of my photos. This world needs more human kindness.

People. Is it really time for a friendly reminder that sometimes the crap that flies out of your mouth (or fingers as it were) online can be misinterpreted and hurt people? People you care about? Yeah, yeah, it's just flickr. Lighten up. I know. But I've both been in the position of having my feelings hurt before and been in the position of watching it happen to my friends. And it frustrates me every time.
Practice a little love today. And if you don't have anything nice to say, well...you know the rest.
I'm still battling my sore throat. So it looks like another day of tea and soup for this girl. Oh, and in case you didn't know, this shot is inspired by this one by the ever talented Michelle. Told you I'd be copycatting it, sweets! ;)
Theme of the Week: I've got a secret.
they can help or destroy.
Keep your judgement words only for yourself, people don't need it.
Be gentle, kind, polite. Smile.
Words can create, can touch, can satisfy, use just for it, not for hurt!
Be nice!
BLOGGED
Thank you so much to all of you who wished me happy birthday yesterday and to all of you have been leaving me lovely comments.
When I was doing the 365 project, my sleep suffered -- a lot. I was often going to bed at 2 a.m. despite having to be up at 6:30 a.m. to get my girls off to school. I am suffering a severe sleep deficit and now that I am done with the project, I am working very hard to get off this computer and go to bed at a decent hour (by 11 p.m. at the very latest, but ideally by 9:30 to make up for all that lost sleep). This cuts severely into my flickr time, and I've been more busy than usual recently, too, so I haven't had as much time to check your streams. I am sorry, and I will be back, I promise. I just can't make my rounds quite as often.
I appreciate the community I have found here on flickr so much. Thank you for being a part of it!

I was driving to meet Jenny & I spot this as I was going 35 mph. In my head I thought, "Take a picture on the way home." And then my smart head said, "Hey Dumb Dumb! You won't. You'll forget. You'll think it isn't important. Take it now." So I listened & turned around. I'm sure the owner of this beautiful white building doesn't think this is nice, but they should. Because I can't stop thinking about being nice. And one person can make a difference.

"Grebes small to medium-large freshwater diving birds. They have lobed toes and are excellent swimmers and divers. However, they have their feet placed far back on the body, making them quite ungainly on land.

Thanks for visiting, enjoy each day. #BeNice
While I am not a religious person (at all) I feel very spiritual. I also really believe in karma and that how you treat others will either benefit or hurt you later on.
Today I went downtown and I was putting money in the meter for my car. I noticed the car next to mine had expired, so I threw an hour's worth of quarters in their meter. I believe that doing simple nice gestures like that is good for everyone.
And if you don't believe that...just watch out. haha! jk.

Sausage Tree
Family: Bignoniaceae
Kigelia africana
Zulu name Amebelendlovu
The flowers (and later the fruit) hang down from branches on long flexible stems (2-6 metres long). Flowers are produced in panicles; they are bell-shaped (similar to those of the African Tulip Tree but darker and more waxy), orange to reddish or purplish green, and about 10 cm wide. Individual flowers do not hang down but are oriented horizontally. Some birds are attracted to these flowers and the strong stems of each flower make ideal footholds. Their scent is most notable at night indicating their reliance on pollination by bats, which visit them for pollen and nectar.
Although the flowers are beautiful, odor is quite unpleasant for humans. The flowers smell of rotten meat which attracts its polinators.
Met with a couple of my former professors today, definitely a confidence booster when you know there are people out there rooting for you. Life's neat like that--when you first meet people, you have no idea what sort of impact they'll have on you. It's important to make every encounter count!

Dear Benice,
As we head towards Valentine’s Day, is there any advice you can offer a lonely landscape photographer to help me find love, and turn my life from a sad monochrome to a vibrant Velvia?
Yours forlornly with film,

The few pictures I took yesterday (in Venice Beach) came out really tight.
I was going to buy a pair of these stunnas but I didn't have enough money...I'm going back when my French sister Agathe comes in July.
We took a lot of pictures in Kayln's glasses hah.
We all skipped school yesterday because the school's doing standardized testing and seniors don't take them. :)
And I'm not at school today either...I love short weeks.
